There's a road AND railway line in the way Ian!

Maybe he's assumed those nuclear weapons have exploded on the A34 and the road and railway have been destroyed

Slowly but surely we are starting to see the inner workings of OCC in all this with the friends and enemies of this project being exposed. It’s good to see which councillors are willing to ‘call out’ those who are delaying proceedings.

Liz Brighouse saying that the LDs have been delaying this for three years is very telling.

If you have a LD candidate come to your door either this year or next, let them know about that quote.

EDIT. As an aside, that’s a better piece in the OM. A couple of quotes from pro-councillors and a right of response to Dan Levy. And no Middleton quoted in it either.

This is such an important point, the ongoing delays.

Heads of Terms still haven’t been signed off.

Every delay damages the club and threatens its very existence, those who deliberately cause these delays know it.

We have some local elections coming up, these are often have low turnouts and decided on a few votes here or there.
Use your vote wisely.

Apparently the UK needs to build 22x new towns the size of MK to house everyone. Each one of those will have a sport stadium. The planet and it's nature will not begin to recover until humans are extinct - who knows when but I would guess within a thousand years.
The Green campaigners are wasting everyone's time trying to stop our stadium. Whether or not it's built will make zero difference to the BIG PICTURE.

The "green" campaigners won't be happy until everyone is living in caves and eating moss*

*Apart from themselves of course, they can do what they like.

Final rant of the day.
Wasps are a pollinating insect crucial to our eco system.. Unlike bees they have a bad reputation. Councils are called daily to obliterate their nests. The Green Councils do not protect wasps, and yet everyone is up in arms if a bee gets killed.
Every single person on this planet contributes to its deteriation.
All those against our stadium should look in the mirror.

The Triangle site is 0.05 km2 (5 hectares).
Oxford's Green belt is 668.68 km2 (66,868 hectares).
So in effect less than a miniscule 0.0075% is actually being used! Not virgin forest. Not wild, untouched meadows. No wildlife haven, rare bat or newt sanctuary - just previously 'toxic' wasteland with no other discernible use except as a tiny buffer of land between a town and a road. Land that was recommended as the perfect location for an eco friendly, highly sustainable, travel friendly, easy access, flagship stadium. A facility that will also benefit the local town, city, county with house price rises, sustainable jobs, a massive permanent boost to the local economy, access to sports and culture and huge positive mental health rewards for thousands of people. If the club dies watch out for a giant spike in negative mental health outcomes and the subsequent medical costs to the local NHS.
This is not more generic housing. Or another industrial park. Or university buildings (all of which would be signed straight through). This is absolutely massive. At stake is the life of a unique, wonderful, important and much loved local football club.
This NIMBYism must be defeated.
