+++ 25/09/2019 League Cup OUFC V West Ham United +++

Did anyone else notice KR telling Moore and Dickie to go up and the field and join the celebrations after I think Fosu's goal? A clever bit of gamesmanship. I thought our general professionalism in seeing the game out for the last half hour (especially between the first and third goals) was excellent, and has gone overlooked given the ultimately resounding scoreline.

He did it again when Baptiste scored

Just found some longer highlights here:
Sorry but is it Fosu-Henry as that commentator was calling him? I know the bbc sport put his hat trick down to FOSU-Henry

Tiger was a very happy chairman last night, on the flip side I doubt whether David Gold was ???

Great that we have a goal hanging striker in the squad who stands 6 yards from the goal to put the ball in the net, even better that the team are now putting the type of balls in the box to allow him to score.

4 clean sheets in a row just a couple of weeks after shipping 3s and 4s. Attack seems to be the best form of defence for us.

Could Baptiste be our first £10m player?

His (gold's) roller was parked outside the quadrangle .... personalised plate.... alongside another rolls with WHU number plate

Brilliant effort from the lads. Shandon Baptiste is some player, if he stays injury free he will become the real-deal.

Little bit deflated about Sunderland, let's be honest, it will be a tough game. If we win though, and then draw the winner of Crawley v Colchester we could make some waves.

Up the Ox!

The other roller was Sullivan's. I was there early to get a parking space and watched them drive through the car park.... not cliched at all are they? Just like I'm not jealous!! (of the money not those particular motors!!) :ROFLMAO:

I think a couple whom normally sit in front of me are Spam fans, he had a half n half scarf and his wife kept looking at me when i was shouting at Zabalata/worse than Milwall songs etc.... :ROFLMAO:

Shandon reminds me of Jamie Brooks in that he looks so comfortable in games. Let's hope he has better luck with health.

Weirdly, just walked past Sullivan whilst getting my lunch, he is very short and was with a significantly taller (and overdressed) woman.

Didn't have the stones to give him earache. Looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

There is a lovely photo on the Oxford Mail website of Matty Taylor already celebrating Shandon scoring before he has shot*.

*Well I like to believe that is what he is doing. :)

An over the top comparison I’ll admit but Baptiste reminds me of Paul Gascogne. It’s the upper body strength combined with twinkle toes feet and the ability to drive forward, with speed of thought. It all looks so natural and not overly coached.

If he can stay fit he’ll be playing in the Premier League within 2 years.

Sunderland are the masters of draws so take them to penalties with the yellow army behind the goal to give them added pressure and let Henry and co finish them off.
then crawley in the quarter finals to set up a cracking semi ?

I was saying last night, he’s a cross between, Sterling, Scholes and Gascoigne!
And Long reminds me of Gary Neville, no nonsense, get stuck in, and good at getting forward as well.

Happy times!

Last night was what supporting a team is all about, pride passion and pulling off an amazing result against an in form team two leagues above us. I'd like to explain the feeling I had at full time to the Sunday afternoon pub TV premier league 'fans' wearing shirts of clubs based two hundred miles away that they've never visited, I'd like to but I just dont think they'd get it. I'm welling-up writing this. I'll have to stop. See you Saturday
FOREVER AND EVER...
