You say that, but we have a 'family' area, so why not a female area if there were a good number who would go if there was such a space set aside? Saying 'It's a mans sport so deal with it or go and watch the Ladies side" isn't really solving a potential issue (if there is one, I have no idea).

It's not as if we are exactly filling the stadium week after week and there is no space is it...
It could be requested although I doubt whether any action would be taken because of the uptake of the offer. Dam the language I hear and yes including me ( only on match days but not an excuse ) with women sat in the vicinity doesn’t seem to cause an issue otherwise something would have been done or attempted to be done.
Yes Nathan Cooper does mention this pre match.

So where do you stop with the pigeonholing once you get past the practical things, like family areas where Olly the Ox can keep the ankle biters entertained?

An area for overweight, 50 year old white males? An area for 18-21 year old lager drinkers? Etc etc...........

Everyone is there to watch OUFC`s Men`s team - that is the unifying fact and everyone is welcome irrespective of any individual characteristics.

What a shame that some of our most passionate and enlightened fans couldn't find the time to support the fans council.

I was looking forward to seeing @bazzer9461 minutes to try to work out what the hell he was talking about whilst also redacting everything offensive that comes from @Essexyellows

Hopefully the 4 who have VOLUNTEERED to represent the wider fan group, and support their needs with the club will be treated with a little more respect than some on here can muster.

No disrespect but this is doomed for failure

100% respect for anyone who VOLUNTEERS as I do rather a lot of that myself thank you which negated my capacity to do anymore, I`ve fallen into that trap before.

This panel that, like it or not, represents all of us is happening and we, as supporters, are allowed to discuss it frankly and openly.

It will be very interesting to see how they gather the broad church of opinions that they will be expected to work with. Somehow an email account and Twitter account might well alienate many people at both ends of the supporter spectrum.

Perhaps they decided that the job caould be adequately done by direct contact with the club or through the Independent fans' organisation, OxVox.

I wonder why you, a major cheerleader for this enterprise, didn't join.

Very simply, I know the SLO Andy Taylor and felt my involvement would only reinforce some beliefs about cronyism and would undermine the supporters group. They have my full support and I'd happily assist if I felt it would be helpful rather than being a hindrance.

Seriously, if it happened, it would affect you how exactly? Why can't the question be asked, and if there is a need something done?

It’s a reasonable question to ask though I’d rather that women are welcome and comfortable everywhere in the ground. TBH I go with a woman and we never encounter anything shocking or scary!
Can’t ever recall whether there has been if there were it would have been documented for everyone to read.

No, and I'm sure that's the case. But then I'm a white male, nearing 50. Ask the question to the ladies and if there is a need, do something, if there isn't then move on.

I demand a section for overweight, fifty-year-old, white males then, please. With exclusive access to draught ales on tap at halftime in glasses. :)

Or

We just stay as we are and get along just fine irrespective of male/female/straight/black/gay etc because we are all there for a common purpose.

The family stand makes eminent sense to me, you can plop all the family units on one area where they can get Olly the Ox and such entertainment. And it reduces the amount of squawking kids interrupting the match. :)

IF it's reported. How many women don't complain and just don't turn up again? How many don't even go in the first place because of preconceptions?

Once again, (general point, not directed specifically at you Bazzer) "It affects you how if the question is asked?"

A bit sexist! What about asking men if there is a need to do something?

It affects you how again? You never did say...

Again we see how much of a tragic loss the Essex Bazzer combo are to the supporter's panel!

Because you don't see a problem doesn't mean that others don't. We should look at making the experiences of every supporter the best it can be, even if that means different things to different people.
