Ex Player Yanic Wildschut

I think we've been scarred slightly by this type of signing from the Clotet era, but he's proven it at this level before and has the experience of promotion with a big club.

Oh no we haven't signed the Dutch Alfie Potter have we...?
If he can score the play off winner at Wembley, I bloody well hope so....

He's got a vastly better track record that any of Clotet's foreign signings. He played regularly in the 2nd & 3rd tiers in England out for five years between 2014 & 2019.
(Yes, Tiendalli played in the PL.....but not that much and he'd barely played anywhere in the two seasons before Pep brought him in......)

I think it's potentially a really exciting signing - the only questions about Wildschut are 'Does he still have the legs' and 'Does he still have the desire'? He's been playing for big clubs the past three years but in crap leagues where he probably hasn't had to be on it week in-week out all season. He's also 31 in November.

Assuming he does (and I imagine that's mostly what our recruitment team have been trying to drill down on) then he should be another great addition.

Seems Robbo is going for a more older tried & tested with no resell value rather than young lads with potential, hope it pays off!
It's obvs. a bit of both - we have our own youth and the young goalie brought in who does have potential. Expect other youngsters will be loans if any.

Seems an exciting signing on the face of it, 30 isn't that old for a footballer these days and he's got a great pedigree at our level and above. Certainly his age suggests we are having a pop this season as we aren't going to be making money on this. Look forward to seeing him against Cambridge.

Wish him well and hope he can perform to a high standard, however I feel he will be back up for Browne and don’t expect to see him start that often. Probably not our first choice

Anyone know if it's pronounced Wild like 'willed' or 'whyled'?
Villed ('willed' with a v) and the rest is a throatbreaker - sgut (the g is the Dutch sound as in deGea) so villd scut is best attempt. We have a few Dutch members, maybe they can improve on my attempt.
