Current Player #42 Steve Seddon

Sounds like possible fractured cheekbone, if not then nasty head/facial injury regardless
 
If he’s returned to us does this now mean one of our places in the squad is now taken up?
 
Surely if he’s signed a loan contract then why would we take him back, Kyle Joseph has been injured for 10 weeks and he’s still with us?
 
If it's only a fractured cheekbone surely he can carry on his loan he's got another cheekbone I guess what's wrong with these players in my day they would have got up and carried on lol

He could’ve gone back to Swansea for treatment but we would’ve still had to pay for him. You can’t break a loan between PL/EFL clubs outside of a transfer window. We chose to treat him ourselves with Swansea’s blessing but there was never an option until this week when the window re-opened to cancel the deal, and even then it all depends on the exact terms. It usually needs to be mutual.

Although we’re in a transfer window Cambridge might not be able to send him back financially. Since he only just moved it’s likely that the deal says they can’t ask to send him back until the summer. We likely can’t afford to be generous as we’ve already replaced him and Fleming needs paying for.

Get well soon Sed’s - I’m guessing your’ll be out for a few weeks then they will probably get you one of those masks I would imagine.
 
Had completely forgotten about Steven Seddon until I noticed that he came off the bench for Cambridge last night (and apparently on Saturday too).

I'm no fan of his but there is further irony in the fact that he's currently playing more football than Brandon Fleming.

As poor as Seddon is, he would have likely (along with Jones (if allowed to play) and Taylor) offered more to OUFC than each of their direct replacements.

We'd genuinely have been better off bolting the doors in January and saying "no-one in or out".

Absoltely f**king mental stuff.

Yes, Seddon isn't very good but he is at least quite tall!
