New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Can't wait to see the designs. Somewhere i have one of those leaflets about the Kassam design from many years ago... wish i could find it, would be good to compare it to how the hole turned out.

Thats the one! Thanks.
Better images here:
Always been fascinated by the spaces behind the East Stand, specifically the rows at the back behind the seats which I think was supposed to be an executive areas with glass frontage. There is also alot of space between the concourse and the car park which I think was supposed to be a supporters bar. The space is there, and there are doors to access, but presumably its just an empty shell.

blimey! A Heath n fitness club in the mythical West Stand

'Alexa. Show me the most '90s images of a gym, please.'

West Stand.JPG

Reading all of that back, what a colossal clusterfuck occurred to end up with the compromise that is the Kassam. The three stands, the partially finished East Stand, the missed opportunities with no West Stand, being in for the start of 1997 ...

We've been stung before. Please can our wealthy owners not do a Robin Herd this time around.

Its mental how unfinished the stadium actually is 21 years later, not just a completely missing stand behind one goal and the gym that should have been in there, but a whole section of posh seating in the east stand, with extra bars and a supporters club, its fairly obvious that the concourse areas underneath the east and north stands were never finished off as well, bare and spartan as can be. It even says the club will be looking at other businesses to go in the north, never even got thought about once Kassam came along. The stadium that bares his name is not even half finished 20 plus years after he took over building it, he has just been waiting for us to go bust in the meantime to turn it into housing.

Yet we still get people saying they can't understand why we have to move, considering we have no lease past 2026 and that is truly flabbergasting that elected officials even bring that up, this is pretty simple and straightforward situation, new ground = professional football club in Oxfordshire, no new ground = no professional football club in Oxfordshire.

Ah well onwards and upwards, looking forward to 6pm and the grand unveiling.

Appreciate naming of the new stadium is probably a long way off.. but am hoping we can go for something like The New Manor. And then, when its inevitably sponsored, it can be the Bangkok Glass Manor, retaining some of its name and our identity... rather than just the sponsors name like the Etihad or the JJB or the "some other sponsor" stadium.

I hope we go for nothing remotely close to 'The New Manor', and nothing with the word 'New' in it at all. But that's just me.

To be fair, when we moved to the current place i didn't fancy the new manor, so will agree with you there.. but retain something of our name and identity in any sponsored stadium name.

I don't agree. The Manor has great, a truly special place, but it's in the past. Everything about the new stadium should be looking to the future. I agree that a sponsorship name is most likely, but something like the Beauchamp Arena/Field/Park would be amazing
