New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

I don't agree. The Manor has great, a truly special place, but it's in the past. Everything about the new stadium should be looking to the future. I agree that a sponsorship name is most likely, but something like the Beauchamp Arena/Field/Park would be amazing
After all we've had to go through, I'd happily take the Kidlington Community Stadium, with a not-too outlandish sponsor name, as long as it comes with a Joey Beauchamp stand, and preferably statues of Joey, Jim Smith and Mad Dog outside (if the club doesn't commission these, then as a collective we should).

And we should keep the Ox statue from the Kassam, that was sponsor and fan funded, its doesn't belong to Kassam.

No Arthur Turner?

I hope we go for nothing remotely close to 'The New Manor', and nothing with the word 'New' in it at all. But that's just me.

I completely agree. A new stadium is never going to be like The Manor, so naming it so would feel a little contrived to me.

I completely understand that The Manor will always hold a strong place in people's hearts, but it's not something that could ever be recreated. It would be fantastic if the new stadium could reference it in some way - possibly with a small museum type area that contained signage, seats or anything else originally from there, but the opportunity is now to look forward and create new history.

That said, we're also looking to create a stadium that relies heavily on public transport, so it may pay to try and raise the profile by naming things to do with this after some of our illustrious former players. I'd be in favour of the Steve AnthroBus stop, or walking over the footbridge to Oxford Parkway to catch the Phil Train-er back home.

looking at that leaflet makes me well angry.
we got absolutly stitched up like a kipper..
I was vry excited about the new ground - sad to be leaving the manor but the new stadium offered so many possibilities for the club. I use dot drive aroun in my vauxhall nova checking on progress then we all know what happened, finished in name only and the club and fanbase patronised and lied to.

Something like the 'Manor Lounge' would work for a bar or dining club in the new ground but they'd better ask persmission from @Manorlounger first

What about the 'Not The New Manor'? Effectively dismissing the New part and the Manor can be used with the sponsor as previously suggested? :)

yes i same as, i used to live right next to the stadium in michery farm.
before they built the second stage greater leys, & the science patk, that is where i used to take my kids & dog for a walk.
it was absolutly deppressing, sat on the big mounds of earth, with my kids & dog looking at a rotting half built stadium
we used to sneak in through a hole in the fence& walk round it dreaming.
getting chased by security, for somthing that when did resume was the end of the dream for that place.
hereshopping for the next chapter..

I used to drive to the building site and check on its progress, will do the same here if approved! 22 years later and I still get overexcited about OUFC related things!
