New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

I've also noticed on next door if you push the green stuff like the minimum 10% net gain in biodiversity or the stadium lights focus on the pitch not the sky or the stadium bowl design to stop noise escaping they have no answer to it

And this is why those anti the stadium hate seeing the positives, because they're undisputed. The arguing stuff is easy for them but it serves little purpose now.

Its also what ever fosb push the sheep follow. it was fosb member who started the road closures debate if today fosb come out with the stadium is too blue there will be thread after thread about the colour

Social media seems to be awash with those worried about getting from Kidlington to the JR due to these road closures. It may be worth pointing out that emergency vehicles will still have access, and routine hospital appointments are very unlikely to be planned for Saturday afternoons or Tuesday evenings.

However, for those who still need to attend, the journey from Central Kidlington to the JR via Oxford Road would take approximately 16 minutes for a journey of a little over 6 miles.

Completing the same journey via Frieze Way will take 3 minutes more for an extra mile on the journey.

And the difference in time will be nullified once Oxford Road becomes 30mph with additional traffic calming measures.

As for those saying that it will prevent people travelling in and out of Oxford, we should be asking why they would be making car journeys when we should all be looking towards taking vehicles off the roads and using public transport for such journeys.

And all of this is for relatively short periods of times on around 30 days a year.

As mentioned earlier, large parts of Oxford were shut off for several hours today for the half marathon. St.Giles closes for the fair and Rememberance Parade. And everyone copes just fine!

Bicester Village used to be a nightmare on Bank Holidays or Black Friday. They put more parking in, employed traffic management measures and encouraged many more to travel by public transport and now you'd barely notice, or you adjust accordingly.

Those who make the final decisions on these matters will not uphold concerns about traffic in any way.
Yet again this is pure selfishness

Kidlington /North Oxford must be one of the easiest places to get to the JR

Try living in Abingdon or even further afield getting to the JR
Even getting there from the South East side of Oxford will take double that amount of time.

They really need to take a good look at themselves and when they do they won’t like what they see

im being really honest here, I'm not looking at this with yellow spectacles on.
it takes more than 40 minutes to get to the Jr bus, everyday at certain times, especially 5 PM rush hour, you can add on any where between 20 mins to an hour depending on circumstances. it's not scaremongering to me it's reality..Screenshot 2023-10-16 8.19.58 AM.png

You've got to ask the question - if FoSB are painting themselves as an environmental group, why are they so upset about local people not being able to use cars?

It's almost like they have a narrative of "Kidlington residents driving - good. Football fans driving - bad"

A totally hypocritical view. They cannot have their cake and eat it too.

A Kidlington resident has just said on next door that she won't be able to drive to the park and ride to get a bus to Oxford because of the road closures umm use the bus instead of adding to the problems

It's quite odd really, we are all making a pledge to use public transport where possible, yet the "green environmentalists" won't even consider not using a car!

For clarity, my plan is to drive to Bicester or Islip and get the train to Parkway. It'll be great.

I doubt anyone who lives in Kidlington has ever driven to a park and ride to get a bus to Oxford, you will either get a bus from Kidlington or drive all the way into Oxford.

I must add this person also said we must save the golf course not sure where she's been

What's he on about here? @Billyox

EDIT. 'At least that many times' refers to a post further up the thread that points out the error of the stadium being used for major events 'twice a week' = 104 events.

What activities are the club going to come up with that are going to fill the 16,000 ground twice a week for a year? That's 104 occasions so they need at least 75/80 more than just our matches? Taylor Swift going to do a residency for a year or two?

I can only assume he is getting confused with stadium bowl capacity which is 16k and the capacity of the conference facilities I'm not sure what the capacity of the rooms are but it's likely to be 1k max I would of thought massive difference

Bus journey times have been ruined by LTNs.

Perhaps he can be persuaded to show his workings on this, and produce the text that his pompous answer in point 3 refers to?

lets not forget that 180- room hotel - not necessarily at all times at full capacity, but it would be in use everyday idve thought
