New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Maybe Banbury's?

6,500 having just googled it so probably, would rather go there for two seasons and sell it out than play outside the county, probably not enough seats or something though.

Maybe we could do a tour of the county, Abingdon one week, Banbury, Didcot, Oxford City on others, would be far better than Wycombe or MK.

We wouldn’t would we? How many people are going to want to travel to Milton Keynes regularly?

I should imagine we (if we really have to) would go to which ever ground is cheapest to rent, won’t be selling out wherever so no point wasting money.

Hopefully can get an extension at the Kassam.
if it comes to it, yeah - rather than Mk/ N'ton or/ WW ( but only for the very short term- as short as is possible - I hate the cold, soulless breeze block )

Cheaper to pay Oxford City or Didcot to expand their ground than to ground share, I bet. Would take too long though.

With Oxford City you'd have the expense of laying a grass pitch and then probably reinstalling a plastic pitch on top of expanding capacity when we leave as well. Also, I doubt Didcot could be expanded sufficiently as it is pretty enclosed and I think there could be problems with access.

I’m surprised the capacity is that high, not too many seats though.

I suspect it would need a quite a few upgrades for it to get league approval. Might be fun for a season though! I doubt many league one teams would enjoy playing there with a sell out of Oxford fans each game. It could become quite a fortress.

Handily placed near the railway station.

Would have to rebuild the side terrace at Banbury at the least as it is crumbling. I wouldn't pay too much attention to that capacity as I doubt the Authorities would allow anywhere near 6,500 as it currently is. Don't know if the club could persuade the landowner behind one goal to allow them to use a bit of it for a temporary stand and the space behind the side terrace looks a decent size but not sure how practical it is to use. Also, could be interesting as not many ways in and out of the Ground itself.

Not sure why the assumption is a year delay?
Hopefully no delay, but if there is, a couple of months at the most.

To Have any chance of the stadium being ready for August 2026 we have to be on site and spade hitting the ground by September/October we can't really afford any delays now, we have wasted our leeway by not getting the planning in before Christmas

Without reading the EFL handbook, Banbury’s ground would need a lot doing to it even make it a short term option that would satisfy the EFL.

A few extra months at the Kassam. If it looks like it’ll be longer, I suspect a groundshare would be the only option.

Obviously we are not promoted so it might be slightly different

K****m has never heeded one word of what OCC asked him to do regarding the Priory, so if as expected the stadium won’t be ready why don’t OCC say to him. You can have that land at Grenoble Road to build houses once OUFC have the stadium ready. If that is six months into the season so be it. But the condition that you get that land is only when OUFC have a new home, plus you cannot charge extra rent.

I am hoping that, as above, the local council help out and smooth through a deal with Kassam for an extra season.

I wonder if it might be possible to move into the new stadium with only certain sections open for the first few months, if it's that close to completion?

subject to planning permission, if and when we do move in to a new stadium (on the Triangle) Ive a feeling that the overall infrastructure may be work in progress for a period of time, with the hosting matches side of things ready to go, but building/ construction work ongoing

Banbury only have next season then they will be made homeless, so forget that idea unfortunately for me
