New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Wow, the last sentence on this is so discriminatory and outdated. Surprised its been accepted.View attachment 18351
Not just the last sentence, what is that part about 'if indeed they can find a contractor' all about? Staggering snobbery and NIMBYism.

Oh, and I don't think the stadium would cause any issues to traffic flow on a Monday to Friday 🤦‍♂️

For those who don't have time to read:

"Oxford United is proud to announce that it will be working closely in partnership with The Little Labourers Foundation to break ground on our new community stadium.

The Little Labourers Foundation works closely with underprivileged children to ensure they can gain skills which will help them into gainful employment later in their teenage years.

Subject to approval of our planning application, Oxford United can confirm that a team of 400 children, between the ages of 9 and 14, will be used on The Triangle to clear the land, move materials and heavy plant onto the site, and lay groundworks and utilities connections with a view to constructing the lower levels of the stadium project independently, without adult supervision.

Bert Kinnear of The Little Labourers Foundation said 'this is a fantastic project for our children, who will be learning practical on-the-job skills in a fast paced and exciting construction environment'.

Oxford United has agreed to provide packed lunches, hard hats and 30 minute breaks for each of the children. The club will be fully funding life insurance policies to ensure they enjoy their time working for us.

If you have a child who might be interested in working in construction or helping to realise our dream of a new stadium, please contact commercial@OUFC.com"

There's the contractor that objector was concerned about!

Every single objection of this nature works in our favour. The planning authorities will simply ignore anything that is based on lies, assumptions or bigotry.

It's bizarre to name numerous villages north of the site and then say that Sainsbury will become inaccessible as a result is clearly untrue. Access for them will not change at all as any traffic will be to the south of Sainsbury.

And the point about unsavoury football fans and antisocial behaviour is clearly nonsense. There is no evidence to suggest this is even a thing, let alone something that deserves to stay within the current community rather than blighting peaceful Kiddy.

We are better in ignoring everything that these people submit and focus on highlighting all the very real positives. The new community engagement stuff that has been put out today only reinforces what we already know. Football is a fantastic avenue for bringing communities together and having a positive influence on tens of thousands of lives.

This is the message that we need to keep pushing and ignore the lies and nonsense that undermine any legitimate concerns raised by others.

I think you are ignoring how hard that Sainsburys car park is to navigate and how relevant a point that is, powerful stuff indeed.

Do beg your pardon but, being rather busy, do you think you could paraphrase that for me? ;)

I was going to start the bingo game when the FoSb comments started but those two have ticked so many boxes that I think the card is half full already!bingo.png

Putting aside the blatant bigotry that will surely see this objection disregarded by CDC... upwards of an hour and a half to get to the ring road from Kidlington?!

Unless their car had square wheels I think this is yet another example of 'made up s**t because I can't find an actual reason to object'.

Honestly... AN HOUR AND A HALF :LOL::LOL:
