The major upturn in goals and performances - and Posh Gaffer Darren Ferguson mentioned this last night - is due to Oxford being currently outstanding in transitions.
When Peterborough turned the ball over as Oxford pressed, Goodrham finds space in the pocket and is able to feed the outlet (Murphy/Dale) with quality
passes. Goodrham is looking a real threat in a free role behind Harris. To play in this way regards the sitting/holding midfielder whether it is JMac
or Brannagan to get through a prodigious amount of work to firstly read the situation , then win the ball and distribute it.
I was worried in the past couple of weeks with us playing Brannagan and two number tens - Bodin/Goodrham and Rodrigues but in transitions
we look so fluid and full of goals. Murphy on current form is a machine. His pace and power is terrifying defences and he’s a real match winner.
Posh ‘keeper Jed Steer, CB Jason Knight and RB Jadel Katongo in particular had very difficult moments as Oxford ruthlessly pressed and exposed them.

A refreshing change from a manager. He summed it up perfectly. The major upturn in goals and performances - and Posh Gaffer Darren Ferguson mentioned this last night - is due to Oxford being currently outstanding in transitions.

You could well be right, it’s only my observation that far too much has swung since we coincidentally got our a**e handed to us at Bolton - it’s too drastic a change after months of real turgid football to just happen in an instant. The formation changed, players out of the picture overnight. It honestly feels like a new manager bounce and a totally new regime.I think in hindsight it was perhaps very much a case of WIP, with Des trying to get his ideas across and the players trying to work it out. Could have been a mixture of a lack of understanding by the players, Des struggling to clearly explain what it was that he wanted out of them and just the passage of time to get things to click.
Either way, yes totally agree it is time to move on from the whole episode. Yesterday’s demolition showed us that we have all the tools in the box.
The only thing that would've made that better is if it floated into the goal slower!
Looked impressive from the North Stand, but the pitch side camera really highlights what a brilliant finish that was from Billy Bodin.
I know I'm going to upset a few people but I found our play from defence to attack was much faster without Brannagan. If he's fit he should only be on the bench Tuesday, keep the fantastic team exactly as yesterday started. And definately McEachran in.
Definitely something in it, Cam is quality but there's a tendency for him to try and do everything. My hope is that he can see what we're doing and realises he doesn't have to do this and can just focus on a specific role rather than playing on his own, if we can get him playing to his best we'll be a threat.I know I'm going to upset a few people but I found our play from defence to attack was much faster without Brannagan. Morning all, hope we are still riding a crest of a wave after that amazing performance yesterday.

He’s still one of our best players, and is definitely a standout L1 player. But agree he needs to stick to a specific role. Now that we have found our rhythm, I’m sure Buckingham will make it clear how he needs to play. McEachren amazed me yesterday. Different player to the cautious sideways rubbish we’d seen from him under Manning.I know I'm going to upset a few people but I found our play from defence to attack was much faster without Brannagan. Must be missing something - you agree we should name an unchanged team because Peterborough named an unchanged team and it cost them dearly?Agree.
Des should learn from Peterborough's mistake yesterday, an unchanged team for 3 games in 6 days cost them dearly.

Pick of the bunch? Did they miss our second? Not enjoyed a goal that much since Vigoroux got an assist.
Agreed, maybe play a similar team on Tuesday and then bring in Brannagan, Moore, McGuane, Browne etc for Friday?I think it's difficult for any starting XI to play 3 games in 6 days successfully as Peterborough showed. Hopefully Des won't flog yesterday's starting XI on Tuesday and Friday, rotation will be key.
