And? They aren't correcting their 'hostile environment' mistakes, they are doubling down on them.

Talk us through how successful those legal routes are for Ukrainians....

As highlighted earlier the process has to be safely managed so won`t be quick or an open door policy.
94,700 applications across the two schemes (Family scheme & Sponsorship scheme).
56,500 visas have been issued.
16,400 refugees have arrived.
Details are published by the government.

And yet the EU has accepted millions....

But in fairness the EU have 26 countries with 4 EU countries bordering the Ukraine and more EU countries bordering them. There is also 1500 miles between the two countries.
But hopefully those who apply for a visa are successful.

And in fairness, the EU haven't actively been putting in roadblocks to make it difficult.

True but tbf we aren’t in the EU anymore and albeit a late move from the government we are now issuing visas to try and help.
The government are giving £350 to each host family, but is that towards the Ukrainian family’s support or for the hosts pocket? And finally how long before Labour or the Lib/dems especially Layla Moran start saying they need more money.

What has the EU* got to do with us as a country acting with human decency for people in need?

Well done for getting the squirrel of Layla Moran in, that is quite impressive. :)

*After all Brexit happened apparently.

As I. Said we were slow to act and now visas are being issued. Poland have taken a brunt of the refugees but thatbis because they border the Ukraine then they will be dispersed accordingly to where they can be helped as refugees.

But yes the squirrel of Layla had to be mentioned because it is the sort of thing she does.

It's to the host, £350 a month for 12 months.
The refugees receive £200 upfront on arrival and can sign up for work, benefits, NHS etc as soon as they arrive.
The idea is that the host helps them and gives them practical support, advice and guidance as well as a roof over their head.

Apparently, for reasons unknown to anybody. The UK Government are planning on flying asylum seekers halfway round the World to Rwanda to process their claims, rather than simply just doing it in Britain.
This is a huge, wasteful, unnecessary cost on the public purse, at a time when we’re facing the biggest cost of living crisis in 80 years!!
Not to mention the ridiculous carbon footprint it will cause!! 😡
Seems a similar to a proposal of Hitler's to send all the Jews to Madagascar before deciding upon the final solution.

Godwin suddenly appears.

And those social democrats in Denmark want do the same..........

And they only had 1,567 migrants compared to 28k+ crossing the Channel annually

Think I'll trust UNHCRs honesty and integrity above that of Johnson and Patel...both proven liars.

BBC News - UK Rwanda asylum plan against international law, says UN refugee agency
Breaking domestic laws isn't a problem for Boris might as well break an international one too.

You can be quite flexible with the Law, as long as you do it in a limited and specific way. (Brandon Lewis, Sept’ 2020)

I hope the Police are up to speed with this next time I get a ticket. After all, ignorance is no defence in the eyes of the law.
