New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

What exactly have FoSB done for the community?
cost KPC residents £7 k that couldve been better spent elsewhere, and attempted then withdrew their 'demand' for funding their losses, also to KPC in an attempt to make the residents in KPC fund a vanity project - apart from that, scaremongered, and spread misinformation intentionally and deliberately

Any positive things they've done?

Pressure groups can do good for their communities. They can help keep developers honest and ensure that they are held to account.

However, in my opinion, FoSB are waging a battle based not upon doing good for any specific community, but rather based on classism, self-interest, mild-racism and snobbery.

When this is done, they will bask in their self-appointed glory at ‘saving’ Stratfield Brake. Oxfordshire however will celebrate a magnificent new stadium, though it will be slightly tinged by thoughts of what could have been were it not for short-sighted, selfishly motivated individuals who would stand in the way of progress and community benefits.

Agree. FOSB and KPC and all the other councillors trying to stop the stadium should of worked with Oxfordshire county council and OUFC to get the best for the community in regards of the whole project on SB and the Triangle.

Shame on them and in a few years time alot more residents of Kidlington will wake up and realise they were shafted by others of an amazing opportunity to have a world class sports village on their doorstep.

It will in fact be Oxford united that saves SB from being built on I believe one of the conditions of us taking over the maintenance of sb is that it can't be sold to a developer and we can't move the training ground

Totally agree. Shame on them.
Middleton and the greens have real problems now. They are ironically backing car drivers ( can't possibly close the roads for an hour or two), arguing against one of the greenest if not THE greenest stadium in the Country and arguing against a new stadium which will inevitably have significantly more use of public transport.
Had some of these people lobbied for the best facilities and local infrastructure that they could get , they would have been working FOR the young people in the area and the local community.

This is a useful document to refer too regarding CDC committee member conduct, particularly page 6 which states that :
 Lobby Groups
DON’T become a member of, lead or represent a lobby group seeking to promote or oppose planning proposals. If you do and you are a member of the Committee, you will have fettered your discretion.

There does seem to be strong links between FoSB and the local Green Party especially with Green Cllr McIvor the spokesperson for FoSB and ex Cllr Campbell standing as a green party candidate last year. (Wonder if the green party will try their Kidlington resident trojan horse tactic again to get objectors onto CDC?).

Add to that votes objecting to the stadium by Green Party councillors on KPC as noted in their minutes and it's clear the entire Oxfordshire Green Party has fettered their position and they Green councillors shouldn't sit on the planning committee for the stadium application.

They will in time be shown to have cost KPC residents far more than £7,000 by scuppering the original plans to redevelop SB.

The road will not be closed, if anything a temporary diversion for non essential vehicles.
