I think the heads of terms were always likely to be agreed, it's their delaying tactics and the reality of them losing votes.By agreeing the heads of terms?
YesDo we risk splitting our vote and still letting in the Lib Dem’s and Greens? Should we collectively agree to vote Labour or Conservative to maximise the impact?
They’ve done it because the heat was put on them but myself and many others on social media & on the doorstep, make no mistake, they saw the rumbles it was causing in the new constituency the ground is in. They had to act to save face and to try and claw back votes they were otherwise going to lose. They won’t be getting my vote anyway, but the issue of the heads of terms has come at the worst time for them, leaving them unsigned would of consigned them to a heavy defeat at the ballot box. It probably still will, Levy & Gant scored massive own goals coming out against it on the portal. I wouldn’t be surprised if their positions are at risk very shortly.

seriously?Sorry, I’m confused. The LDs and Greens run OCC (I think), and have just agreed heads of terms, and the club are talking very positively about that same council signing other stuff later this week.
Can you explain as I if I’m an idiot (shouldn’t be hard!) why the Lib Dem’s and greens are anti-stadium?
Seems to me like they’ve continued to work behind the scenes with the club since October to agree the HoT, and are close to signing anything else that needs to be signed.
I’m confused how this makes them ‘anti-stadium’.
They have deliberately delayed the negotiations and final wording of the heads of terms .Sorry, I’m confused. The LDs and Greens run OCC (I think), and have just agreed heads of terms, and the club are talking very positively about that same council signing other stuff later this week.

Are you being deliberately obtuse?Who losing votes?
Keep up at the back!Who losing votes?
They agreed to the lease as they know it’s one of the most political own goals they can make. But as Gant and Levy are fairly local, weren’t they always likely to object to some degree to ‘keep the natives’ happy? Whether they remain as county councillors is dependent on them after all, isn’t it?
But aren’t they also part of the Cabinet/Lead group that both agreed the lease in principle, have agreed the heads of terms, and no - according to the club - are set to agree other important matters in the very near future?
Just trying to make it all add up.

Having looked through the comments, there have been an awful lot of Objections uploaded most recently. Whoever you are, wherever you are from & especially those in the local area. If you haven’t done so already then put your support in for this new stadium. Do not regret not taking action & putting your support in. This may be your only chance!

All through the process so far Lib Dens and Greens have held up proceedings
The Conservatives and Labour have been behind the project from the start
Now although H of T have finally been agreed at least 3 senior Lib Dem’s have come out and openly said they are anti stadium
Cllr. Miller is saying one thing in public but another when canvassing
The next crucial step is with the CDC planning meeting. If more Lib Dem’s or Greens elected means our chances of getting it through receed
Hope that is clear

The Lib Dem’s were never sharing beds with the Greens.
It would of been political suicide on there part!
It will all go through, and building will start in the Autumn.
Anyone fancy some part time labouring, to help speed up the build process…
As you say lots of opponents are saying : I’ve heard that they can ‘stay where they are’, ‘the ‘site is too small’ and that a ‘beautiful, biodiverse,There has been quite a few but at the same time must are just the normal comments of can stay at the kassam site to small etc etc
Been plenty of support also coming in tho just not from Kidlington

Is that how planning committees work? I thought any decision they made had to be in line with whatever the national planning guidelines are?
True, I did notice that. All very valid points, what people think in that local area will be about 50/50 and the rest of them Oxfordshire is unanimously in favour and it’s not just for kidlington. It’s for every town or place in Oxfordshire. Not just about kidlington where it will be seperated from by a roundabout, and any noise will be minimal and no more than the cars they have going through their village now. There has been quite a few but at the same time must are just the normal comments of can stay at the kassam site to small etc etc
