Away Match Day Thread +++ 13/01/2018 Walsall v OUFC match day thread +++

Very poor response. Are you 12? Or one of those grunting guys who slag off the players at the slightest mistake? Grow up.

Where did the grunting and 12 yeard old come from?
WTF would you like me to say?? I agree with worthlessunoriginal and today was hunky-dory. It doesn't matter that we lost, Mr. Clotet is a lovely man and doing a wonderful job, its the taking part that counts. Now, if you disagree with him you are a terrible rotter, who should appreciate that Mr Clotet takes the time to speak to us on the radio, when he could be telling the players how happy he was with that performance, and praising them to the limit.
Now as Mr Clotet has set out, if that nasty Mr.Eales does sell Ledson then toys will be thrown out of the pram.

It's "their keeper" grammatically! And Eastwood has picked the ball out of his net 6 more times than their's this season! :)
Oh dear, somebody who has nothing better to do in their life then try to correct somebody else's grammatical mistakes. You must live an exhilarating life my friend. Must be that lonely on a Saturday night and have nothing better to do... ?

You're here! :)

Yes there were incidents at both ends today that affected the result (Henry's tame effort from close range in the 1st half, the Walsall keeper's 2 outstanding saves etc) but it's our lack of an effective midfield that is the worry.
Mowatt, Ruffels and Payne just didn't win enough possession, and when they had it there was little consistent creativity.
Apart from Tiendalli, the defence looked ok, and Thomas and Obika looked ok too. Henry had a good second half.
It's a saving grace that the standard in League One this season ain't that good...I really can't see how today could be described as a good performance. It was average at best, and the cold hard fact is that Walsall beat us, even though they looked below average.

Today was something else though.

You had to be at the Banks’s to witness the level
of foul and abusive language and verbal abuse foaming from the mouths of our Neanderthal
nutters towards our players. It was appalling.
I'm shocked - I thought OUFC had some of the best fans away from home!

Both their goals came from poor levels of concentration. Carroll got done for the first because he didn’t react to a quick free kick and how the tiny Oztumer managed to get possession of a high straight ball down the middle only our skipper ( who was notionally marking him) will know.

On the plus side we were all over them for most of the first half and the last 25 minutes.

Mowatt was tremendous. Obika and Martin also did well.

There was some shockingly bad support shown by a sizeable minority of our fans. Filthy abuse for some of our players , who on another day would have walked this 3 or 4-1. Why the nasty scenes at the end of the game?

This climate of instant gratification being demanded does my head in.

Poor decision to hook Henry, who was looking dangerous. As I say every week, I would personally drive GVK to the airport - he is terrible.

But the contorted rage filled faces of some OUFC supporters after a narrow and unlucky defeat was bloody depressing. Grow up!

Mmm.

OK so my view is a little more in line with the BBC's view (I agree they are not always right.

We should have won that game convincingly. The BBC start with 'a string of superb saves from keeper Liam Roberts helped Walsall.....' Their fans rightly had him as MoM.

So far as the defence. Really? In my view tiendalli was not great but OK. Canice unfortunately was at fault for the first goal and could have given a couple more away. One of his poorer games.

Little creativity? That was not the problem. The finishing was poor. We had 59% possession, 14 shots of which 7 were on target. Obika should have taken the one on one with 20 minutes left (and I reckon we would have then won). Josh had a good chance and hit it past the post. Mehmeti missed a glorious chance with a minute to go.

In the second half we had a lot of the game and looked like scoring regularly . But the finishing was very poor (even in the first half Henry should have finished a really good chance and their keeper made a great save from Thomas.

Totally agree with most of that.

Why do so me supporters almost seem to hate the club/ players? Bizzare.

It seems one chap is very happy with himself for getting into a verbal spat with Mousinho. I just sigh when I see people think and act like that. I'm sure he think he's the mutts nuts, but he's a dick as far as I am concerned.

It's bizarre. Don't ever get into a discussion with or reply to one of those individuals as their precious egos cannot take even a whiff of what they give out. You'll be offered outside sharpish!

It's not hatred - it's frustration! It's the same mistakes over and over. We all want our team to win. I blame the manager as he never seems to learn from his tactical mistakes' MApp changed his tactics and dropped philosophy in 8 weeks - Clotet has had 8 MONTHS and it's the same rubbish...

Tiendalli and Van kessell need dumping NOW ! 1st half was poor , 2nd 45 we got our act together and should of got a draw at least . Our support vocally was dreadful considering the numbers , Walsall will get relegated.

Totally agree about the idiotic fans but we must remember they're in the minority and probably don't have an friends. Poor little boys

It’s an unfortunate trait of modern football that some people think it’s alright to verbally abuse there own players with some of it being quite vicious. We all have our favourites and others that we are not so keen on but surely if they are wearing the shirt they deserve our support. That’s always been my view anyway.

Don't blame him:)

Rothwell just sailed through the game , no mistakes and mostly unnoticed?????

Get rid of GVK. Tiendalli isn't great but he was being asked to play in an unnatural position today. I'd have put Ruffels at LB - he's done it before and he is left footed,
