Away Match Day Thread +++ 10/03/18 AFC Wimbledon v OUFC +++

B*****s to your snowflakes comment. I’m watching the rugby right now, and to imagine one of them making a comment like that and getting away with it is just unimaginable. Nothing to do with “passion” and all to do with being a dick.
Plenty of rugby players behave like dicks. The welsh 1 with the golf buggy springs to mind

I didn’t think yesterday that we would lose today.

Lose to any of the 3 below us now and we will have serious problems. Like I said above still can’t see many of them going on runs, apart from Rochdale. But if we continue to play like that, with no idea or tactic , then it matters not anyway and we will have got exactly what we deserved

The following was in response to a post I posted have browny, foley or RATC changed their opinions

Those 8 days with 3 home games in April is looking massive for us, the one part of our remaining fixture list where we could get a bit of a run going and pick up decent points.

Vital we get a manager in as soon as possible to raise the standards, we can at least be professional on the football side then, even if everything else is a mess.

Whoever above said one up top doesn’t work for us is spot on, Obika is bad enough with a partner but as a lone target man he is beyond hopeless. A new manager who accepts we have a poor side and sets the team up to fight for points in a relegation battle is what is needed, not someone who thinks this set of players can football there way out of it.

Good post. Agree that Obika on his own up front makes no sense. I believe we got better results when Pep went to Plan B playing 4-4-2 with Obika and Thomas playing together.

Rugby players are all saints aren’t they?

Just got home and fuming. So that was awful, the penalty decision left me wondering if there are bent referees in football (and I'm a football referee!) other than that the other decisions were ok not truly dreadful and one-sided. The oxford players need to go a a referees course they have no idea how far they stretch the rules before giving away fouls. oxford constantly overstepped the mark wimbledon just the right side. The oxford performance was shambolic and that captains performance from Mous was dire he is an insult to professional footballers again he played so bad his performance was far worse than the refs. Eastwood looked poor on crosses today and their second was shambolic. And Faz just sat there doing nothing substitutes on too late buckley-ricketts and smith brown were poor, ruffels just untallented and s**t today and the Beak and Thomas should be left at home for the rest of the season. Never as such an untalented weak minded bunch of chancers who some how got mistaken for professional footballers guided (and i cant use the word managed) by such a clueless managementer ever played for this club and i remember the kemp days. Utterly despondent we are going down on this form and the players manager and owner are in complete denial with head in the sand.

No passion so sad this happening to the club i love

How did you rate Brannagan, he talked a good fight post-match?

I didn’t say they were. I’m talking about the on-field player/ref relationship.

I honestly think from watching the few changes that we have created in recent games that the decision to not recall hemmings, just as an option could have cost us, he would have put that Thomas chance away today that’s what he does, a finisher in the box, add to that the decision to let raglan go out, and we’re left with less options our selves. Are they good enough for l1, possibly not, would they do better than mous/martin and obika , IMO yes

Acutally him and Riccy were good the only two alongside Henry who actually seemed to care and have any quality. So there were only 10 chancers out there today. I actually thought Dickie did ok too.

Thanks, I'll take that as a positive as I'm badly in need of cheering-up! I think Henry's been unlucky not to start recently given that he was playing well. Perhaps next week.

Quite agree they just have to be better than what we have and Mous and Obika are just awful. I actually thought that one of the better players for wimbledon was mous because it wasn't altogether obvious that despite his yellow shirt he was playing for us.

It got so bad today i wished we had Edwards and Skarz at the full back positions. I have been positive until now but that performance scared me the complaicency and the lack of passion and the alltogther cluenless ness was upsetting.

Dickie Henry and Brannagan were the only highlights and Riccy at least worked hard the rest should be ashamed of themselves and their performance.

Why? I don’t want to sponsor an idiot just because he wears a yellow shirt.

Ever played football? Ever been totally pissed off before? Ever been interviewed live on bbc oxford when you were pissed off?

He shouldn't have said it but he only said what hundreds of people were thinking,

Hundreds of people wanted to slap up the ref outside the ground? Really? That’s not why I watch OUFC. Dunno about you.

The point on Henry seems to be a common theme. He always seems to be a player who shows he cares. Even the ‘shoosh gate’ incident showed that. I can’t really understand why he’s not being picked to start at the moment

When I look st our squad I struggle to see a coherent first 11 in any formation, even allowing for injured players coming back. We really did have a dog s**t summer, followed by a January transfer window funded by an incoming owner.
