Away Match Day Thread +++ 10/03/18 AFC Wimbledon v OUFC +++

I watched on iplayer and thought we played rather well. Very unfortunate to have nothing from this game.

Ardley made 2 subs that won the game for them. Faz made 2 subs that lost the game for us.

There were some decent individual performances . Dickie, Kane and Brannigan all ok. As was Obika - certainly compared to the disastrous replacements .

I am not going to slate the players too much - we deserved a point.

What I am going to slate is the club. Leaderless, rudderless, total inertia.

No one has a clue what is going on.

We spend good money to follow our team round the country and we are being treated for mugs.

To have no new manager for six/seven weeks is verging on the criminal - whatever the ownership issues.

I honestly think from watching the few changes that we have created in recent games that the decision to not recall hemmings, just as an option could have cost us, he would have put that Thomas chance away today that’s what he does, a finisher in the box, add to that the decision to let raglan go out, and we’re left with less options our selves. Are they good enough for l1, possibly not, would they do better than mous/martin and obika , IMO yes

When I started the Hemmings thread in January, the argument was that with Obika/Thomas they have a history of injury. Bringing Hemmings back at least provided cover (and unlike others I do think he is a reasonable finisher).

If we got another striker in, fine. But not recalling Hemmings was poor.

However, let’s not use that one decision as the main reason for this s**t show. There are many facets to our capitulation, the Hemmings decision just one of them.

I watched on iplayer, we did okay until they scored and then after that i didn't think we played very well with the
U sure u had the right game on? I watched live and thought both teams were terrible

I thought we did okay until they scored, after that, was a horrible game to watch, especially the second half.

Hundreds of people wanted to slap up the ref outside the ground? Really? That’s not why I watch OUFC. Dunno about you.

More than few were very vocal during the game. The linesman fell into that bracket as well. Both turned in absolutely appalling performances.

Eales must take the blame for this. He has been thinking about his own interests and has left the club in a mire. If he had gone with Sartori he would have been thanked for his efforts. Now his tenure will be seen as poor after a wonderful couple of years.
Maybe you should look closer to home why DE never completed the Santori bid

Could Todd Kane still have been sent of after those comments if the ref had got wind of them?

I think the decision on Hemmings was a financial as much as tactical. Hes one of our highest earners. Mansfield paying a chunk.

As soon as it became clear we werent getting our alleged targets he should have been back.

There must be a striker better than Obika and thomas and a decent defender who haven’t contracts we could sign, Our forwards are awful and the defence a shambles since Nelson was injured.

B*****s to your snowflakes comment. I’m watching the rugby right now, and to imagine one of them making a comment like that and getting away with it is just unimaginable. Nothing to do with “passion” and all to do with being a dick.
That sums you up Egg chaser !!!!!

I'm reminded of the away game at AFCW in our promotion season. They absolutely shellacked our goal, Büchel in net, Chey and Mullins in front...bruises on top of bruises across the board, but we came away with a win thanks to goals from Hylton and Bowery. I look at this team and I see maybe two sets of balls among them...

I haven’t used it as the main reason ? It is one of many, several of which I have mentioned this evening.

Lack of tactics
A formation with one up front that hasn’t worked since Payne left.
Not recalling hemmings or raglan.
But all basically down to one main issue, a crap summer transfer window. Injured players like tiendalli, obika, Williamson adding to Thomas as well as other just poor rather than injury prone signings left us with just not a good enough squad. To then lose hall, riberio and Nelson for long periods

I’m not looking to fight you like Charlie. We agree on the same point.

Just simply stating that whilst not recalling Hemmings was (if being generous), poor. Hemmings decision alone isn’t responsible for our many issues.
