I’m sorry but they should have protocols in place for things like this in terms of coverage. They should’ve had some basic emergency plan that at least allowed them to cut to highlights of the Wales game from earlier on while they gathered more info, and got the studio team ready to sign off. That they kept showing the medics pumping his chest, and at one point showed him being zapped and his entire body jumping off the ground from the volts, was appalling. That’s without even talking about how they were showing his wife being consoled by players. Really poor form by the producers. I’m genuinely shocked by their decision making. You know this sort of thing can happen by now - surely there has to be some sort of basic procedure other than, “Keep sporadically showing him lying dead while they try to restart his heart, and make sure you get the wife, we don’t want to miss that.”
Thank God it appears that he has indeed been revived and is conscious, and is seemingly fully alert. If he comes out of this unable to play football again but is fully functional mentally etc, that’s fantastic news. The doctors and medics who saved his life today are genuine heroes.
