Tickets Tickets for Cambridge Utd away

No .. I don’t particularly have respect for people who won’t wear masks indoors or who don’t really think of others. i certainly dont have respect for anyone with far right views, I don’t think anyone does.
Can we keep people like werthers tedious left-wing politics away from football threads please? I want to stay on this forum only on the football section, there's really no need for werthers to take his virtue signalling onto this thread.

Surely one doesn't have to be particularly left-wing (tedious or otherwise) not to have respect for anyone with far-right views.

And to my mind, for what it's worth, people who accuse others of virtual signalling aren't worth taking seriously.

Well said. If one spends any time at all on this forum - apart from match day threads - it becomes easy to spot the political affiliations of certain members. Nothing wrong with that. It also becomes clear that those with more strident either left or right wing leanings lack tolerance of those from the 'other side', which is perhaps unfortunate.

In this case, to bitch about @werthersoriginal's personal preferences suggests paranoia and perhaps an unwarranted superiority complex.

If anyone's paranoid on here it's those who think people not wanting to wear a mask has anything whatsoever to do with "far right" views.

There are several users on this forum who seek to belittle anybody who doesn't share their off-the-peg left-wing opinions and imply anyone right of centre is thick, and a total blind eye is turned to it.

Yet anyone displays a right wing opinion and they are jumped upon by all the predictable users who want to feel superior to others.

Its absolutely tedious, and puts me off using the forum.

So because somebody (me) says respect both sides of the mask wearing debate, it’s ok for Werther to say I’m right wing?

Deluded as ever Pete

It is ALWAYS ok for a left-wing user to imply things, belittle others and act with a superiority complex. Because they do it hiding behind the guise of being or looking like a "good person" and having the "correct opinion", and the moderator (who although I like and think is a nice person, himself has self-admittedly left-leaning views) generally agrees with the left-wing voices they are given a total free-license in the politics section to spew their paranoid bile and imagine they live in some sort of far-right society.

Fine, I don't have to look in the politics section, and I actually requested I was banned from the forum. However, I am interested in Oxford United football club, so can't help myself but have a look at what people are saying on OUFC matters, but even then I'm subject to paranoid left-wing nonsense.

Once again, please just ban me from the forum, it's just a safe space for left wing users to belittle others and excersise their bizarre paranoia and superiority complex.

Christ!!!
Here's another one.

I think the final straw for me was when a user on the politics forum straight up basically said Essex Yellows was thick, all Brexit voters were think and if everyone was "educated" left-wing parties would walk every election.

I noticed how Pete Burrett and all the "reasonable" left wing posters let that one slide, but love nothing more than jumping on right-wing posters implying they're scum.

On a serious note, why can't one just delete themselves from this forum? It's weird. I like supporting the team, but I'd rather be blissfully unaware I'm surrounded by people at games who think I'm a working-class brexit voting knuckledragger.

Stereotypes can be fun, both ways.

No-one conforms to them though, not really.

We all take things too seriously sometimes.

I've made no reference to you in my post or what Werthers might think of you. My post referred to a disagreement between Werthers and the Wandering fella. How you contend my post was delusional is rather baffling, but I'm happy for you to expression an opinion. By the way, I agree with you that respect should be given to both sides of the mask divide.

Wethers linked not wearing a mask to right wing/far-right behaviour before I said a word.

There is a handy "ignore" feature on here you know. :)

Welcome back @Wandering Yellow.

Just let the froth wash over you like a gentle wave...... if folk want to think you or I are a "right-wing, knuckle-dragging, Brexiteer supporting Tory" then that is fine.

I just like the shortened term................ "Winners". :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Lights fuse and retreats to a safe distance......................................................

I looked at some other League One clubs' sites about an hour ago. It's not just our fans who are waiting for news.

MK Dons, Cheltenham and Lincoln hadn't made any announcements about tickets for their away games on 7 August, although AFC Wimbledon and Portsmouth had.
MK Don's probably don't know if they'll be allowed away fans at their home games due to the numerous home ST holders who could prevent safe social distancing 😁

To be fair I don't ignore anyone but I might have to find out how to use it if I'm to stay on here. I do like reading people's views on football matters but the constant left-wing whinging in the politics thread and now even on here just makes the forum really sour.

I'm going to choose not to wear a mask in an open-air football stadium by the way. It's all a matter of personal choice, there's really no need to make mask/no mask another divisive debate. Live and let live, if people feel like a mask protects them then fair enough, but don't demand others make the same choices as you.

Is this a bad time to ask whether or not there will be a separate vegan kiosk inside the ground?
I'm a vegetarian so if I am some kind of right-wing stereotype I'm doing it terribly.

Cue someone telling me Hitler was vegetarian :ROFLMAO:

Back on topic, I really hope the club allows us to buy memberships again soon.

Don’t think he drank or smoked so as long as you honk on a ciggy and/or pour a pint over your head before kickoff then you should be fine.

Think he probably did drink as his rise to power came partly through long speeches at Bavarian beer halls. I don't know about smoking but he was on an absolute plethora of drugs, particularly towards the end. Speed, Cocaine, Morphine, a cocktail of all three...

Maybe it's time to just open the door on doping in the football league. Whyte may be quick and dangerous but imagine him souped up with the blood of a lion racing through him, and a cocaine fuelled Gorrin would terrify opposition forwards. It might be immoral but it may well be entertaining.
