You’d hope we get more than 1400 as they’ll go instantly imo. Think normally Cambridge give 1600 behind the goal and 1000 on the terrace if that sells out.
We declined it according to a poster on Cambridge forum.

You won’t be able to watch Saturday 3pm games on iFollow anymore, we are back to pre pandemic rules
I find that really hard to believe. Personally, I don’t give a toss about COVID and wouldn’t have any anxiety whilst going to any public event. However, what about those that do!? This is potentially alienating a lot of our fan base.

I’ve checked the website and there is a match centre for Saturday. It mentions audio passes and a live video.

I'm sure it'll come back in in the future, given what an obvious success it was last year, but Saturday seems too soon.

That said, I think there are ways round the blackout. You could find streams online for pretty much every game last year, and I'm sure a decent VPN would work (blackout only applies to UK).

So it’s not confirmed?

The whole thing is madness really isn't it. For away fans in particular, when their allocation has been sold out it's free money for clubs to open up the streams. Just think Sunderland with their following, a club could sell out the away end and then sell a few thousand streams quite comfortably.

Couldn't agree more, and that's assuming attending/streaming are in meaningful competition.

I'll probably make 3 or 4 away games this season. Were I able to stream I'd probably do this for more than half of the remainder.

I guess not. That's literally the only article I can find about it on Google. Seems like more noise would have been made about them doing away with the 3 PM blackout though.

You're right though, iFollow helpfully has this to say on the matter: https://ifollow.zendesk.com/hc/en-u...-be-available-to-watch-in-the-2021-22-season-
As I posted above, the iFollow match centre on the OWS mentions live audio and live video. Passes aren’t available yet, but that’s usually the case. I think the EFL have dropped yet another bollock, if they decide to pull this service!

thats 'helpful' ifollow information- right up there with their usual standard

just because fans are allowed back to watch games live doesn't mean all are comfortable (as yet) with mixing with crowds

and from the financial end of things, most EFL will have huge losses from the lockdown & restrictions of the past 16 months
retaining ifollow ( in the UK for 3pm sat kickoffs etc) would help clubs recoup a percentage of their losses... EFL admin, the 9 ringwraiths, are really not fit for purpose (IMO), never mind run the EFL, that bunch of 9 incompetents couldn't successfully run a bath

Be wary of putting weight on what it says there. That match centre also serves us exiles who do get video. And more than once it has looked like we’d get video of a cup game only for the button to disappear at the last minute.
Not saying it’s a good thing, but just like watching England, don’t get your hopes up too much!

You're being unfair there. Everything was perfect; candles, wine, bathroom-safe smart speaker. Lovely warm water. Posh Christmas bubble bath.

Who could have reasonably foreseen that plugs were a thing?!

As someone with an underlying health condition, I'm not really in a fit position to start going to football matches, not to mention my only way to travel is via public transport which makes it even more of a risk.

Just seems so short-sighted, especially given last season I was able to spend hundreds watching and supporting the club. Essentially they're putting me into a position where it'd make more sense for me to get a robust VPN and just buy a non-UK season ticket that way. I'd rather give money to the club, but seems like they're not giving me a huge amount of choice.

After getting to watch every game last season no way I can go without this season. Guess Saturday morning I'll be doing some research into VPNs. Anyone who's done it before got any tips? Best VPN service/prices? Will I need a new OUFC account or will my current one work? Ridiculous that they're restricting so many people to audio coverage when we're still very much in the middle of a pandemic. Dangerously risky as it forces people with health conditions to go sit with 10k+ people if they want to watch a game. Unbelievable.

Nord is great. That’s what I use, and it’s very reliable. Competitively priced as well! Definitely worth the small investment, if you’re using it for the mid-long term.

What would everyone's starting 11 be then? If all players are fit, I think I'd go:

Stevens
Long Moore Thorniley Seddon
Brannagan Gorrin McGuane
Williams Taylor Whyte

Typing that out has really made me realise how much depth we've got in the final third. Any of Henry, Sykes, Holland, Agyei, Forde, Cooper, or Bodmin could quite easily start instead.

I know a few players haven't had the best of pre-seasons owing to self-isolation, so that could impact things.

If McGaune isn't fully fit I'd go for Sykes instead. I suppose Forde will deputise for Long if he's not ready. I'd also like Agyei to be second choice striker in front of Winnall; I really hope he gets more game time this season.

The madness of this is that there are thousands of people across the country who are more than happy to pay for this service , more income, no don’t want it too much trouble in trying to a responsive company
