General New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Land Deal

You are coming over as a Friend Of Stratfield Brake. Your negativity is certainly at the forefront of your posts.
You call it 'negativity', I call it honesty and realism.

You can pretend to ignore the potential faults and downfalls of the plans but that doesn't mean they don't exist, mate.

Anyone who lives in Witney will know that the travel time to the Triangle will be much shorter than to the Kassam. A40-1st exit at the Wolvercote roundabout next right into Pear Tree P&R. Witney-Long Hanbourgh-Bladon-3rd exit off Bladon Roundabou-A44 to the Frieze Way Roundabout choice of 2 P&Rs. Both routes far quicker than a trip to the Kassam FACT.

It is staggering to me that you are seemingly determined to look at the worst-case scenario for this, when the location of a train station right next to a stadium will clearly be of benefit to a large number of supporters, as indicated in consultations so far.

The club often do surveys where they find out where fans are located, a lot of these will be in the Thame / Bicester / Banbury area for instance, and a large number of these fans will jump at the chance to use the train system. This is just one area of the county which will be massively benefited by the move. Of course there will be some for whom public transport won't work effectively, in these cases other solutions can be looked at.
Is there any information out there about where Oxford fans are located within the county? Would be interesting to see.

If the club has this information, why haven't they released it?

If I remember correctly the park and rides have traffic lights, unlike the breeze block.
Also the buses have their own exit, seperate from the cars, and have priority.

You come across as a selfish nimby. @OxShireWest
I'm selfish for pointing out that the plans make my journey to games harder...? The fact you're dismissing a fellow fans concerns because they don't effect you indicate to me that maybe you're the selfish one.

Adding 'mate' to the end of your post comes across as unnecessarily rude.

You are a season ticket holder, and have been for years. You drive to the games early and park on site, but getting out after games is a nightmare (all your own words).

So please tell me how this will be worse when we move? You will easily be able to drive the shorter distance to the ground, park in the park and ride across the road and have a short walk to the stadium. After the game you'll return to your car where there could be a slightly delay in getting out, but unlikely to be anywhere near as bad as you experience already.

So I'm not sure why this is a problem for you?

I don't think it will make much difference tbh. Councils have operated well under minority control as they have to find consensus just as they have operated badly as a single party control. Also, the Tories and Labour seem supportive of the Stadium.

The added bonus it seems is Ian Middleton being frustrated at not getting a seat at the top table. Also, if IM didn't want the Tories to take minority control then he should have either stepped back to allow Lab/Lib Dem minority control, or backed Lab getting minority control.

I believe there is, its called a database, which the ticket office and marketing dept have, you should know that being a ST holder. Maybe try asking the Club directly?

What'd wrong with calling people mate?

I've said I find it quite easy to get away from the stadium as I get there early enough to park at the front of the car park.

My issue is that despite it being significantly closer, my journey to the triangle will be longer and involve more faffing than my journey to the Kassam.

I'm not sure why people are so upset that I'm merely pointing out my reality - is it because I'm not singing wax lyrical about the plans and telling everyone they're perfect?

And also why would they release it to the general public anyway, for what purpose?

Mate, why don’t you wait and see the plans before having a moan? Or even wait until the stadium is there and try a few things out

If this information would support the clubs rhetoric that reducing car use and increasing public transport will benefit the fans then why haven't they released it themselves? Seems they're missing a trick!
