Surely that’s exactly what we’ve been doing for over a year now, and it’s clearly not working!

People need to stop making excuses for him, it’s been a disaster of a transfer, and one that should never have happened in the first place.
It has clearly been a disaster of a transfer, and under the previous incumbent (feel free to change that to incompetent), this was one of several. But to suggest people should stop making excuses for him shows a lack of compassion. Should we have signed him, without question that is a no, but unlike yourself, I'll refrain for commenting on people defending the situation as his reasons for not playing could be singular, or multitude of possibilities (does anyone truly know why), one being mental health.

I think we will still see one more, but probably not statement striker we wanted. Doesn't seem like Marriott or Eisa will be on the move, Longman looks to be staying in the Championship.

Interesting watching Ipswich. With Scarlett they are now carrying Ladapo, Jackson, Hirst, Broadhead and Chaplin. Kyle Edwards also free to go - surely there will be some movement out

I’m convinced that Perkins is the third striker for the lone spot up top, and that tomorrow will see an arrival who is primarily a winger. Most likely a loan since Leigh coming in on a permanent means there’s a spot open on that front.

Risky but I think you are right. That 400k lives to see another day!

Think that's probably right. Primary aim was to spend on a striker, the fall back option to bring in a left sided attacker. The striker market is on fire at the minute - a very small pool with high demand. As you say, left sided loan most probable at this point.

Adingra from Brighton to just throw a random name out there. Will never happen though.

Wouldn't be too worried if there was nothing today or tomorrow, some decent free agents still out there. Some kind of it's a knockout style fight to the death kind of thing between Fosu, Shodipo and other clubless wingers is something I could get behind.

I think the £400,000 will join another £400,000 if we are near the top 6 or in it come January.

400 k is clearly not enough to sign a quality striker proven at this level then. Maybe we should keep hold of it and use it to tie down McGuane etc on to longer contracts.

I think it’s already been a very good summer. I expected 7/8 this summer and 2/3 more in January, so we’re already where I thought it would take two windows to reach. Especially if there’s one more to come tomorrow. Kudos to all involved.

We’ve got a good young manager who has breathed new life into the club and is building his own team, both on and off the pitch, and sit top of the division after five matches. If we add even one more body to the squad tomorrow then I would say it has been an excellent first innings. To go from where we were a few short months ago to where we are now is something I hope most of us can be extremely positive about.

MK Dons are receiving a potential 25% sell on cluase on the Exeter Nombe transfer, reckon that puts the Eisa transfer to bed if we're thinking they need some cash.

As a Forum, we never get too high and we never get too low.

*coughs*

Last season you were suggesting we had about £750k when Hardie was mooted. It then dropped to £500k at the start of this window and now your suggesting £400k.

So have you deducted considerable sums for transfers where we have paid a fee (Woltman and Leigh), has inflation going through the roof reduced the available value, or has someone sneakily been robbing the piggy bank?
