Away Match Day Thread +++ 3/2/2018 Charlton Athletic v OUFC +++

Fantastic. Watching us play fast, incisive, clinical football is great. Pep really did f**k things up. No wonder players wanted to leave having played for MApp then having to play such s**t football

My knee cap thought the same

My Grandmother makes cushion covers from that material. She'll take it if you don't want to wash them! :D

After they scored again and we hit the post I thought it was over, but I shouldn’t have doubted the team. Ricardinho looked good at LM and pulled back a great ball for Kane’s goal. It’s definitely an option to play him there in future based on that cameo.

COYY

wasn't it Ruffles that crossed for Kane?

Shhhh we are going down!

Great win today and shows the character of the team to score 2 late goals like that.
Talk of relegation was extremely premature.
We have been ridiculously inconsistent and clearly not good enough, but we have managed to pull out results like Peterborough, Plymouth and now Charlton away that suggests that we can do enough to get away from the relegation spots.

Unfortunately our home form is the problem to an extent, but I am not worried in any way as I have no doubt we will finish in mid table mediocrity.

Anyone know if DE was back and there today?

Kane looked very good (apart from the mistake!). Just made you realise what we have missed. A proper right back with aggression and pace. Let’s hope Tiendalli is given a free transfer next week.....
Er when the transfer window has closed? Seriously?

I will hold my hand up, I’m not a fan of a loan striker but today showed it didn’t matter 3 goals 2 from midfielders and 1 from a defender. But even though today showed it didn’t matter, I would like to think that if it is going pear shaped we could adapt to counter which is something we haven’t been doing this season
Agree - much better to own them! ;):D

That was our best performance this season by miles
Charlton are a decent team, and we went at them for 90 minutes
Loads more energy and purpose. Made me realise how slow we were under Clotet
Can’t see us making the play offs, but I have no concerns about relegation after seeing that
Clearly a great performance and result. Did you go to Plymouth and Peterborough (and Pompey at home). Was it better than those prformances 'by miles'? If so it must be the best performance for years?

Really?

I assume that you didn't go to the first game v Pompey, Peterborough away, Plymout away, Winmledon at home?

Nope. I was at Oldham though. Good game with good play but I don't really get excited in the first couple months of the season.

Yup would go with that. Smith brown was ok but looked a bit reluctant to go forward. Ibr very very good, napa equally. Rothwell ran his a**e off. Kane like to get forward great goal. Could have been more obika hit the cross bar. Napa got the post. All very good performances, mous at fault and probably the weak link but also made some important tackles first half

The only thing with Mous tbf, is that he has looked bereft of confidence most of the time. If he can gain confidence we might start to see why he was signed.

I think 1 issue is they are both to similar. Both not the fastest, both prone to a mistake. We need to see what dickie can do, he might not be the complete solution but just having a bit of pace along side one of those two might help. To be fair martin seemed to get the idea second half, don’t f**k about or risk it, if in doubt boot it out

Expect next Saturday to be a goal fest. Rovers have 43 goals but 47 conceded we have 47 goals but 45 conceded. Anyone who is FREE next Saturday come down to Grenoble Road and help try to create an atmosphere like the one today. The team deserves our full support after today's performance!

A 0-0 bore draw will happen now. ;)

I think a lot of the decent players had lost confidence. Mous was captain at Burton, won promotion to championship so hasn't become a bad L1 player overnight - Pep had to work on it... If Pep's remit was play out from the back but nobody makes themselves available in front of you, you will cock up eventually as most of the defence did on occasion...

Would be one point closer to safety for some.
