Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

There's two announcements at Oxford City today (Bradbury and another due at 6pm)

Maybe some wires crossed between clubs in terms of what is due?

Most of ours seem to come with a break clause as well ...

All well and good signing plenty of options for us. Kelly appears to be our front foot option and once fully fit could be a real asset for us.

My concern over the window so far is the defence though which is an area I don't think we've strengthened in. I'm working to the assumption that Dickie will go and we have as centre-backs Moore (reliable), Mousinho (35 in April and playing fewer matches nowadays) and Atkinson (unproven and making a jump of two divisions). The rumours about potential defensive improvements have been fairly quiet and whilst Clare will give us a bit more of a dimension we feel rather just solid and functional there rather than dynamic. A Cadden-type would enliven the defence no end.

Here's hoping should Dickie depart we have a viable option on the radar to step in.

Agreed - of course what we *do not* want to do is to allow Dickie to leave so late in the window that our options to replace him have become severely limited. In the long term, I'd prefer we maybe took an 'acceptable' offer earlier to get a replacement in than hang on until the last minute for a bit more but potentially leaving a bloody great hole in the defence (because Mous won't play every game and Atkinson is a complete unknown at L1 level).

We may well have accepted several offers already but if Dickie wants to hold out for a better club then he isn't the type of player we are going to start pissing off by announcing "deal done pending player agreeing terms" is he.

Also we are not going to sign a Dickie replacement prior to Dickie leaving but I have faith there is a plan A, B and C!
 
The Dickie situation is strange we hear there is lots of interest but don’t really see anything concrete apart from the link with Newcastle the other day I wonder IF the club were trying to auction him off (start a bidding war) hoping they could make lots of money for our level also if he’s happy to stay im happy for us to keep him

The fact that we’re not hearing anything is a good thing I think. If he does go it’s on our terms if not then we don’t hear any nonsense.
