Agreed. 13 in 46 last season in League 2 has been his best. At 23 (24 in December)you would think he would have done a bit better. Is he really the sort of signing a L1 side with promotion ambitions would make?
Have we gone from Ryan Hardie, who would have been a statement signing to this lad?
What am I missing?
No, very raw and confident when he went on a run but too open at defending, not saying with game time he couldn’t be the answer but not right nowListening to KR‘s interview before the game last night he could barely contain his excitement about Golding as a RB. What are the thoughts of the people who went last night? Does he solve our RB problems?
I would say no.Listening to KR‘s interview before the game last night he could barely contain his excitement about Golding as a RB. What are the thoughts of the people who went last night? Does he solve our RB problems?
Thought he got better as the game went on. Looked very shaky in the first half; grew into the game a bit.No, very raw and confident when he went on a run but too open at defending, not saying with game time he couldn’t be the answer but not right now
Noticed the mention of Jones and multiple seasons and thought I'd check in.Listed in the interview:
Keepers first start,
Goldings first start,
Wingers first start
Gorrin first start in 10 months
Jones - not started a game in 5 years!!
There was lots to like. Strong and confident going forward and made some good runs. Defensively, like most youngsters, he wanted too much time on the ball and was often harried or pushed out of position. Whether that speed of thought comes through playing games is hard to guess but we do have a good track record - it was exactly what Dickie and Atkinson struggled with in their first few matches and they developed fast. In that respect yesterday could have been the ideal first step. Time will tell.Listening to KR‘s interview before the game last night he could barely contain his excitement about Golding as a RB. Good point. Might need a pizza game against weaker opposition to get a feel for that I guess.Golding to me will be better at RCB in a back 3, he can carry the ball out from defence to break lines but as a RWB you really need to be contributing assists. I'm not sure how much crossing or taking players on is his game. As a RWB in an attacking set up you are basically playing as a winger.
Is there a link to Robbo’s interview about the potential new player?
