General Fans Forum 12/12/2022

Did I miss all the questions about stadium progress and going on the offensive regarding FoSB misinformation etc??

That's the important issue, most of the other stuff was just team and players chat that is widely known already and been spoken about before.

At the start of the forum.

Whole exercise was very anaemic. Lots of air time wasted on minor issues and no opportunity to follow up on responses.

I actually thought the explanation/ justification ref Murphy and Baldock was a good one for example but that still left the challenge of why have we not got a full squad unanswered.

Also is it just me or does anybody else find Tim Williams unimpressive given his senior role. Already fed up of the "What I can say....."

Credit to them for organising and trying!

To be honest I sort of understood what he was trying to say. He sees Tyler as a greater player long term for OUFC than Jodi Jones will be (fair considering Jones injury record and attitude) and will put Tyler in ahead of him to almost fast track his development.
He also said he does this at his own risk when it comes to results.
Fair enough about Tyler long term but it's the first time we've heard this
A month or so ago Karl gave an interview where he said Tyler would go out on loan to a NL club
He's a decent prospect so it's understandable if Karl has changed his mind
You mention Jones' injury record and attitude
Jones has only been unavailable for one game since he joined us, at Sutton away where he wasn't selected anyway
I've only heard good things about his attitude. He's still held in high regard by Coventry fans and Karl himself said he and Smyth were 'good lads' when he pulled their loan deals on deadline day
Great that Oisin is at last getting a chance to go out on loan now
It must be a big relief to the lad

Tyler Goodrham may still go out on loan according to KR.

I will also add that it sounds like the board are very much involved in the process of signing players and it is only Murphy where Karl put his head on the line to get it over the line but even then it sounds like the board backed Karl’s stance so it does seem like Robinson has the backing of the board still but also going into January then we won’t be signing high risk players.

Any reason why? I actually thought for a change he came across quite well and didn’t dodge questions and also admitted mistakes and took responsibility on things like the Murphy signing.
Bored of hearing the same excuses, blaming luck again. Stop gaslighting fans into thinking we have to take risks on injury-prone players. With the budget we had we didn't have to take risks on players that have just been filling up the injury room.
His comments will obviously alienate Jodi Jones. Waste of money signing after he's bullied him out.
The fan comments were spot on, lessons are never learnt with Karl. He's been found out. Gutted it looks like he's here for another window.

It seems that KR thinks that even though are budget is competitive the only way to get promotion is take a few risks with players. The club supported this strategy but has backfired this season, I was there but me and everyone didn't ask the obvious question why didn't we end up with a full squad? How many deals fell thru in the last few days of the window? That must have been what happened? With not enough backup plans.
