KR's had 9 since he's been here, and its proper déjà vu with his first - Samir Carruthers etc.I don’t think I’ve got that many in my house!!

Genuine question
Does anyone think keeping Brannagan last week has meant we have had to pull out of other desks due to FFP ?
It’s clear he is on a good salary now he deserves every penny but I do wonder if it has caused us to have to look for cheaper additions

We will bring in another full back (either versatile to both sides or specialist right back)
We will bring in a striker, maybe 2 if one of them is under 21 and outside of squad limits.
We will bring in another winger and/or creative midfielder.
I don't know when but I do know that the budget and the intent is very clearly there. Some clubs are taking notice of our activity and I wouldn't be surprised to see some players who were only very recently out of our grasp becoming viable options.
And accusations, and settling scores. Don’t forget thoseKeep the faith. We can all rejoice or break down when the transfer window closes.
Bang on 100%.I thought the first 500 pages of this thread were pretty silly but the last 10 pages of reactionary, irrational nonsense really put some perspective on what “dumb” is. Jesus… get a grip. There are 4 weeks left to get additional players in. If we’re still at 17 senior pros on Sept 1, have a go at KR then. Until then, have some perspective. SMH
To be fair though, if KR was a great manager he wouldn't be managing Oxford.
And then the January one commencesKeep the faith. We can all rejoice or break down when the transfer window closes.
10 transfer windows hanging on the wall, 10 transfer windows hanging on the wall, and if one transfer window should accidentally fail, they’ll be 9 transfers windows hanging on the wall………KR's had 9 since he's been here, and its proper déjà vu with his first - Samir Carruthers etc.
Which is what I said, give him 12-15 games and see where we are then, if we are not where we should be and he’s again built an imbalanced squad. Then have the conversations then, I want him to succeed at this football club, but like someone else said, accountability & targets. He has to have both & I hope he doesIf we fire KR now then no player would be foolish enough to sign for us because we'd rightly be seen as a basket case club. We'd then be stuck with what we have, potentially less if players demand to leave off the back of the sacking, and we'd be in for a relegation battle. It's complete fantasy that we could fire KR, get someone new in and then sign a bunch of players for a playoff push in the remaining weeks of the window. The absolute dumbest thing we could do right now is fire KR, and I am extremely glad that we don't have someone so reactive in control that would.
I'm as pissed off as anyone about how this window has gone and what seems to be an internal setup that is actively hindering us, but firing the manager at this point would do far more damage than keeping him. If we get to October/November and are languishing mid table, then THAT is the time to assess and make a decision - so if we do decide to move on then we can make sure to get the right man in to replace him, and give that man the time to learn the current squad, impart his style, and make informed decisions in January about what's required to push on for a playoff spot the second half of the season.
its not our decision though is itI’ve mentioned he deserves 12-15 games this season, if we get to the end of the window and he’s started slowly and we are playing catch-up yet again then I think questions should be asked, especially if the budget is as big as we all think this season. I can’t see thohir & co accepting failure this season. This will be KR’s last if he fails to build the right squad imo
well its all pretty much one poster isn't it - many are rightly concerned but not calling for his headSome of these calls for the manager to go are ridiculous. Can we try and play for some points before we decide that we need someone else in charge?
highly likely that we are being a bit too ambitious with our targets tbf -for example, Plymouth are highly unlikely to sell Hardie to us as a rival and the player himself may view it as a sideways (at best) moveHopefully when the window closes a review of why the club didn’t get the players on the “A” list should take place,is there any common themes, money, appearances, etc
I would call it realismI'm not sure if you're either putting the boot into KR or the club?
Well it’s my opinion. I don’t think the owners will want us to be stagnating and going backwards under KR.its not our decision though is it
Sheff Wed, Derby good few others have multiple players on more than Brannagan i'd imagine so we'll be fine for FFPGenuine question

Nothing wrong with being ambitious. Money talks & if we are offering more of it then players will accept it if it gets to that stage, even though Brannagan loves the club. He’s obviously got a very decent pay rise that surpassed what Blackpool were going to offer him.highly likely that we are being a bit too ambitious with our targets tbf -for example, Plymouth are highly unlikely to sell Hardie to us as a rival and the player himself may view it as a sideways (at best) move
