Really hope the stadium plans all work out with the mens, woman's and academy teams making very good headway over the last few years.
In a recent interview, KR was eluding to other plans that the directors have that he cannot speak about.
That led me to a bit of ‘yellow and blue’ sky thinking and attempting to guess how this could all unfold.
Oxfordshire does not have a professional rugby team or a top end county cricket team. Could we be seeing the future of a potential ‘Oxford’ All Blacks premiership rugby club and a new Oxford County Cricket 11 based at the new stadium/park by developing the clubs in situ, along side a top ranked Oxford Stars ice hockey team.
The Directors could invest into Oxford University/Brooks by way of a new OU sports science department which could also be partly based at the new stadium. Oxford University is not well know for sports science. That could potentially give the directors the link into Oxford University which they appear to desire that they could in turn use for marketing/PR.
Makes me think the opportunities in the future could be endless for Oxfordshire if SB does go ahead.
Random thoughts while I deliberate my plan to live for another 10 years so that I can see all this unfold.
