Er, Manor lounger time for you to get into the real world. Things in the Planning stages are completely different now than back in Robin Herd's time.

Explain yourself. And, while you are about this revelation, perhaps your qualifications in making such assertions?

Strange as many planning restrictions have been relaxed in recent years, especially with the support of local authorities.

One of the issues around the Conservative defeat in Chesham & Amersham by-election....

"Issues raised in the campaigning for the by-election included the HS2 rail line, which is being built through the constituency, and the government's planning reform proposals."

There are lots of people who don`t go to football and won`t want a stadium dropped on their doorstep........ and they vote.

The government maybe slightly tone deaf but notes will be made.

Because the locals wont want s new stadium with 1000,s of supporters turning up especially night matches.

The problem is most sites available big enough to build not just a stadium bit also the consortium's money making leisure/retail/flats are not even in Oxford City council area. How can the club use the stance that we would be freeing up land at the kassam for much needed housing when the lands come under different districts. Not only that but no village around Oxford will want it on their doorstep as it will make them a suburb of Oxford.

You can't just build a stadium anywhere, take Steventon green for instance you can develop that land all you want but the fact is the infrastructure ie roads aren't in place, when you start having to build relief roads your adding millions to the build cost and the profit becomes less.

That's why in unsure why alot of people are saying buying the grenoble Road and redeveloping the whole lot couldn't be an option. You could develop that land a hell of a lot more then kassam did.

Agree, but you try telling some.

That's certainly a red herring, districts can co-operate and do deals when it comes to housing.

Yes they can co-operate but the OCC want to build 890 dwellings at Grenoble road which will be tower blocks but that’s not helping Cherwell district council especially if OCC say we will build the dwellings and you can have the football stadium, can’t see Cherwell district council agreeing that especially when you could guarantee that the consultation would not overwhelmingly support the new ground, and if the district council were to ignore the consultation that would be the death knell for yy he district councillors at the next election.

It appears that some of the main reasons the Liberal Democrat’s won the bye election yesterday was real concerns regarding planning and major capital projects (HS2) and that the tories were not listening to local concerns

The other outlets are owned by different people/companies ?

What is the cost to buy and then repair the stadium and build a 4th stand

I don't think the area could handle Extra traffic that the Championship would bring, it's bad enough now with 5/6/7 thousand gates. The bus takes 45 minutes from the Train station then you face a 30 minute + wait in the cold and often pouring rain waiting for a bus back to then be crammed in like sardines, not an experience to encourage attendance especially with children. This becomes worse for night games when you've only 1 train remaining to get home and having travelled back with away fans it's not an ideal experience and often worse for them too
