The problem is most sites available big enough to build not just a stadium bit also the consortium's money making leisure/retail/flats are not even in Oxford City council area. How can the club use the stance that we would be freeing up land at the kassam for much needed housing when the lands come under different districts. Not only that but no village around Oxford will want it on their doorstep as it will make them a suburb of Oxford.
You can't just build a stadium anywhere, take Steventon green for instance you can develop that land all you want but the fact is the infrastructure ie roads aren't in place, when you start having to build relief roads your adding millions to the build cost and the profit becomes less.
That's why in unsure why alot of people are saying buying the grenoble Road and redeveloping the whole lot couldn't be an option. You could develop that land a hell of a lot more then kassam did.
