Agyie looked more like scoring than Taylor did.
I thought neither looked like scoring, and looking at KR shouting and doing the get up movement with his arms at Agyei shoes the passion that Robbo is showing and letting the players know what he wants. Well done Robbo.

I don't think anyone had a bad performance, some bad luck and a lot of players out of position but not bad performances. The injuries left gaps and misunderstandings but all in all, a win. 3 points.
And a cleaner stadium than we have had for a long time!
But tbf we were living to dangerously in the last 15 minutes and we should have got the mall into their half more and try and keep it. A welcome 3 points and just hope these injuries have cleared up by the weekend or at least most of them to give us an almost full squad to pick from as Bolton will be a tough cookie.

I can't believe that Mcnally wasn't called for foul throws, his foot was so far off the ground he almost kicked his own a**e, twice
Their manager was going ballistic about it, he spent virtually all added time arguing with the 4th official and giving a great demo of McNallys feeble attempts!

We just deserved that. Crewe had a lot of possession in the last 20 but how many shots did they have? Like the way everybody is doing the muck and nettles stuff this season. There is a will to win now which was sometimes absent last season.

Negatives

Stevens kicking.
The ‘injuries’.
Lack of team structure in second half.

Positives

McNally and Thorniley
CamBrans energy.
Bodin’s ball control.
Crowd helping to see the three points in.

COYY.

I am looking forward to watching the replay tomorrow having missed the whole match. Particularly to see how Dan played having been a big fan of his. There are always players who divide opinions , most actually eventually! Good result though.

Important result and another 3 points! Hopefully this confidence and momentum can continue and we use this as a really strong platform.

Looking back over previous Robinson seasons it’s taken until match 9 in 20/21 to have 7 or more points, match 8 in 19/20 and match 13 in 18/19.

I know we’re only 3 in and it’s Bolton on Saturday but this is our best start since 2013/14 season with Wilder in charge!

I'm really not surprised Agyei comes across indecisive/uninterested. Every time he gets the ball he had Robinson shouting instructions at him/telling him where to go/what to do. Robbo has undoubtedly got it right with a lot of young players during his time here but I think he's got it badly wrong with Dan, who, I believe, is a confidence player that just needs to be shown a bit more faith and given a bit more freedom (oh, and played in his natural position). You could see at times all of his instincts were telling him to take on his man, but he was held back by indecision caused by a fear of giving away the ball and the inevitable KR berating that would follow.

I truly believe if we played Dan up front and played to his strengths (balls behind defenders/into channels) he would be a very useful player at this level. As it is his career is being wasted here, and a move would probably be in the best interests of all parties.

Dan has showed time and time again what he offers and where his failings are.

People call for him to be given more minutes on the pitch and when he does get them it's KR's fault still when he stands out for the wrong reasons. 🤷‍♂️

Completely agree, looks like KR is always digging him out for every little thing he does, his confidence is probably shot. I think for his own sake he would be better off going elsewhere tbh. Never gets a proper run of games, comes on as a sub often in an unfavoured position and is then chastised if he doesn't make a big enough impact.

I thought the Crewe left back (Adebisi) looked very useful and was their best player. Missed their best chance of the game right near the end of the match but he defended pretty well throughout and used the ball well. Only 20 as well.

Wouldn't mind if we were having a look at him.

All this stuff about ‘play him in his proper position’ - playing him up front would mean dropping leading scorer Taylor, which won’t happen for more than a game or two. I agree that playing him on the left doesn’t work.

Robinson has said he'll be regularly rotating the front three. I would prefer Agyei to be 2nd choice striker ahead of Winnall.

I like Dan and would love him to do well, but the nagging doubt persists about his ability to think and act quickly enough. He shouldn’t NEED constant instructions about where to stand, when to run, and who to pass to. A move to a team a league lower would be beneficial for all parties.

Were KRs comments on Rad Ox last night? I can’t find the ‘listen again’ on the fairly useless BBC website so if anyone has the link to it, that would be appreciated.

Which comments?

Is a pretty identical post match interview.

Dan definitely has the attributes but I wonder if he has the desire. People saying hes smiling when playing in the middle of a front 3, but looks disinterested when wide in a front 3! Cam played lots of games as defensive midfielder, when we all now he wants to be an attacking midfielder. But he still gives everything he has for himself and the team. He just loves playing football and im not sure Dan has that, hence why lots of people think he looks disinterested.

I like Taylor. He's a natural goalscorer and give 100% in all games but when he's played alone, upfront, against tall strong defender he gets little change despite his scrapping abilities. (Against lesser defences he's fine, the problem is there are too many bully boy defences in this league to play him on his own up there) What did his efforts create on Saturday and last night? If only we had a strong, tall, fast player we could ask to play the lone striker role if that is the style we choose to play. 🤔

On my way home last night I drove past several cars who's car windows had been smashed.

Many years ago my old car was taken for a joyride while I was at the game and burnt out so I've never chanced it again.
