...if Darren Patterson had the millions available that Eddie Howe had we would be in and out of the premiership.
He'd only spend it on "an honest bunch of lads"

Bazzer we’re Oxford not TV wankers. Wouldn’t mind a crack at div 2 but I’ve got no envy for the likes of West Brom. And I’ll ASK again will we be a big club?
Yes but 15 million breach of FFP rules when they won L1 and a further 8 million when they won the Championship. Everyone ladies Eddie Howe in turning around a club on the brink of extinction, dam if Darren Patterson had the millions available that Eddie Howe had we would be in and out of the premiership.
I would love to be in the championship a fully sustainable club. I doubt in my remaining years whether we would hit the lofty heights of the premiership but the championship yes.Bazzer we’re Oxford not TV wankers. Wouldn’t mind a crack at div 2 but I’ve got no envy for the likes of West Brom.
they over spent by 15 million in L1 on players who we’re definitely championship standard then a further 8 million to top up what they already had for the championship no way were they div 3/ l 1 players when they won the L1 titleThis is actually rubbish, Bournemouth got into the PL with a lot of their div 3 squad. They started overspending when they had to stay there and bought lots of guys who didn’t really cut it. I don’t think the likes of Calum Wilson were big fees.
Speak for yourselfWe have far more decorum.
To be fair Bazzer, well over 30,000 fans every time we play at Wembley shows we are a decent sized club, not massive, but VERY decent. And I’ll ASK again will we be a big club?
Mark - any thoughts on why the alleged takeover may be taking so long?I think you are right in that all Relevant Persons have to be vetted by the EFL first.
The second point is that on a change in control, a business plan has to be submitted.
I imagine that most of the main investors have already been vetted if they are Directors.
Tiger presumably submitted the first business plan when taking over from Eales.
And I guess that whilst Tiger remains a significant shareholder, there hasn't yet been a change in "control".
Is there anything more the board can do at the moment though? It's with the EFL nowMark - any thoughts on why the alleged takeover may be taking so long?
From my own experience I’m wracking my brains as to what the blockers may be. I’m not buying the Covid reasoning. The world is completely functional in regards operating remotely.
Do we actually know when any plans etc. went to the EFL? All we really know is that a plan has to be submitted. Despite reports of a bid and then confirmation that it was the existing board members (plus Thohir) as far as I can recall, no mention of an actual submission to the EFL has been made.Mark - any thoughts on why the alleged takeover may be taking so long?

The fanbase is there, but people simply don't want to go to the Kassam, it's an awful, dilapidated and unfinished stadium, with no atmosphere, surrounded by awful leisure facilities, and situated in a very rough, crime ridden area, hardly an enticing Saturday afternoon out and match day experience, so attendance are always down, falsely suggesting a lack of fanbase.
But like Scotchers says, there is an appetite to see us play in bigger and better venues, which is clearly evident whenever we play at Wembley, or on big away days at big stadiums, and I think if we could somehow manage to turn the dream of a nice, big, new modern stadium into a reality, it will entice a much bigger percentage of the fanbase to come to games, and we'll see a big upturn in attendances.
Here's hoping it comes to fruition...
Because the ground was a dump from day oneYes in sure we will see bigger crowds in the championship but we have to get there first. Yes having 30,000 + at Wembley is great but even if a small percentage that attended the games at Wembley that would not attend normal OUFC league games started to come along that would be a start in adding to our attendance figures.
As regards people saying a new stadium will entice new suooorters I ask the question when the Kastad opened the crowds were no different to what they are now there were no new large increases in fan base when we moved there, and no one new what Kassam was like other than the man who saved OUFC and got us a new ground.
But the fans didn’t know that so that’s immaterial, when Kassam started to show his true colours then the fan based dwindled some what.Because the ground was a dump from day one
The average home crowd actually jumped by over 1000 in our first season in the Kassam compared to the last one at The Manor, a jump of 20%, despite us being a division lower. As regards people saying a new stadium will entice new suooorters I ask the question when the Kastad opened the crowds were no different to what they are now there were no new large increases in fan base when we moved there
fam base.
WickedInnit!!!
Well I knew it was a dump from my first visit. It was/is/always will be a dreadful stadium . It was almost as though Kassam had zero interest in football, and viewed the whole exercise as a land deal. As if.Because the ground was a dump from day one
We actually get slightly bigger crowds for ordinary games than we did at the Manor, so presumably our massive fanbase was put off attending games there too.To be fair Bazzer, well over 30,000 fans every time we play at Wembley shows we are a decent sized club, not massive, but VERY decent.
