General New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Land Deal

Hi Vicki/Suzie etc,

Just so you know I was on a train home yesterday full of both Coventry and Luton supporters (some of the most stereotyped working class sets of fans). Lots of friendly conversations and hugs between the two sets of fans. Not a bad word to be said about them.

I'm afraid to say that you and your "friends" group's prejudice towards "football thugs" is very unfounded. I would highly recommend getting out in the real world from time to time.

Kind regards,
Just an ordinary citizen who likes to watch football.

Here, here.

And their stadium is happily the focal point of their community.

I wonder if he attended any of the exhibition events to ask? Or if he'll attend the one on the 8th to ask the club directly? Or even if he's used the contact details on the stadium website or will he continue to misdirect his queries to fans who aren't involved in the decision making process. Very inappropriate behaviour for a councillor to engage in in my opinion.

The offer of maintaining the SB pitches that is a direct benefit to the clubs on the site so young people who play there with them or just go for a kick about on those same pitches.

As you say, it really isn't difficult to look at what the club do with the Community side of things, players going into the Kids Hospital/Schools etc etc.

The man is a complete f*****g tool.

I will not breach confidentialities but I have had interesting communications with a senior Lib Dem councillor who spoke of Middleton having "a hissy fit" that prevented any workable deals that could have give Lib/Lab control in Cherwell. Equally a Labour councillor who said that the Greens are simply not credible and that being in opposition without them was better than working alongside them.

Even away from the 3 or 4 investigations into his conduct, Middleton is becoming increasingly marginalised within CDC, pretty much ignored within OCC and has played the only card he can within KPC to no effect.

He will soon return to the rock his crawled under and will become an irritant to some other community group that he thinks is below him.

On his comments, obviously the club can only provide opportunities to those who wish to take them up, be they leisure or employment, I think most sane, rational people except that.

But from the man who claimed that kids are being spoilt in Kidlington because they have a field and a leisure centre while he grew up in a Dickensian London where he only had a lump of coal at Christmas, that anyone wanting more for local kids was essentially spoiling them then it’s both cheeky and duplicitous to try and use that argument.

As we have seen though his words have no real substance behind them other than an attempt to stop this development while in a ridiculous attempt to feign neutrality, the man can’t lie straight in bed.

Blah... Dickensian London where he only had a lump of coal at Christmas,

A whole lump? I used to dream of sharing a lump of coal with my crippled father, gin-sodden mother and rickety siblings. Birthdays were the worst days, now I sip champagne when I'm thirsty. [continues for 4 minutes and 13 seconds, n******.]

When it comes to politics and the Green Party, I don’t think it’s just Middleton and his duplicitous behaviour.

At a national level it appears to me that Labour are deliberately putting some clear water between themselves and the Greens.

Getting into bed with the greens and people like Middleton is not a vote winner. It’s also very noticeable in Scotland, the SNP and the Greens are doing a fine job of making voters turn their back on them. Labour will be keen to distance themselves from some of the contentious green policies, especially with a general election around the corner.

The LibDems locally and Nationally would be wise to take note in my view.

The Green Party started off having moral superiority over many politicians who were stuck in the past and in complete denial over environmental issues. However, we as a nation are now making more progress than many other countries, and are going as far as most people think is reasonable. Look at the costs of green energy only tariffs? Or try to feed a family by buying locally produced food only?

So in order to remain relevant, the Greens are more extreme in their views and align themselves closure to the Just Stop Oil lot then they do to the average voters. Its no coincidence that despite the wider population becoming more ecologically aware, they still only have one MP who is pretty much elected as an Independent for Brighton.

Labour know that the next GE is theirs to lose, and are looking to minimise who they do deals with now to prevent having to make further concessions later on. Locally, a local Labour councillor confirmed to me that whilst a power share with Lib Dems was possible, the NEC wanted nothing to do with the Greens. They had the option in Cherwell to have an executive made up of 5 Labour, 4 Lib Dems, and Mr Neutral, and they chose instead to remain in opposition!

They know that next year they will be the biggest party locally and nationally, but may need to do a deal with the Lib Dems to get a strong enough majority to make a real difference. Until then they are happy to wait for the Tories to fight amongst themselves and make them unelectable for years to come.

I said that I'd step away from the Nextdoor platform, but couldn't help myself today, especially with Muddleton and Vicky C continuing to question what benefits the stadium would bring to the community. Although I notice that Big Sue has been quiet lately!!

Anyway this is my response to the Nimby Massive!

I know that they will reply with some completely irrelevant point that shows their ignorance and stupidity, but I'm tired of them continually lying in order to create such a false narrative.

I used to say that I couldn't wait until we finally had our own home so that we would never again have the name Kassam linked to our club. But I think that they day these fools disappear to ruin some other community will be nearly as sweet.

Brilliant post sir. Please do post any reply you get from them.
I suspect that they will latch on to the point about finances and how the club will pay for the stadium rather than acknowledge the real key points in your post.

They don’t deal well with anything positive that could happen if (when) the stadium is built.

Excellent.

Vicky has responded, but please do call her Victoria!

But I couldn't leave it as that (despite Mrs Egg saying "you've got that look you have when you're winding someone up online haven't you?!"

I have tried really hard not to let them P**s me off but my word it is hard!!

On a side note VICKY (I will call you Vicky as long as you think all football fans are hooligans), the new stadium isn’t in Kidlington! It isn’t even in the Kidlington Parish Council belt.
As for the benefits for Kidlington residents themselves, you, Mr Egg, have highlighted them perfectly to Vicky.

That last sentence from her has sealed the deal that her name is in fact VICKY, or should be bring it down even further to a Vikki?

It's funny because the more riled up she gets the more we'll call her silly names.

The bloke is bedhopping that much, I’m surprised he hasn’t caught anything yet.
