Correct….Demonstrate you have done everything reasonably practicable. It means a bit of work but off the top of my head, signage, salt spreading, a website announcement 📣

The last one will be our biggest problem, probably take two weeks to film a hilarious clip that goes right over my head.

Cheltenham home to Carlisle tomorrow is off because of a frozen pitch. Also Mansfield v Sutton.

That lot down the A420 have just postponed their home game due to a frozen pitch.

Hope that’s not a bad sign given the close proximity.

We really need this game on, last thing we want is more fixture congestion

I live three miles from the stadium and have just done a screwdriver test on my back lawn. I could easily plunge my tool :) into even the very frosty areas with little effort. Might get to minus 1 this evening but well above freezing all tomorrow morning so I'd be very surprised if the match was postponed.

Over the last few decades there's usually between 40-90 frost days a year (93 in 2010). So between just under 11% and nearly 25% of days in a year see sub-zero temperatures.

But sure, it's unreasonable for me to suggest we should be prepared for cold weather...
Not that I'm doubting your figures, but a frost day is any day that dips below freezing at some point in the 24 hours. The vast majority of these won't lead to frozen ground when the sun rises and warms the country up. Also the 'frost day' might not have been in Oxfordshire. The actual amount of days that we can expect frozen ground at 3pm in Oxfordshire is much less. Not that means we shouldn't be prepared however.

(I'm presuming you have based your information from the Met Office data, if not feel free to update me).

What fixture congestion? We only have League games from here on out and still have 9 (nine) free midweeks.

As an aside, seems odd to have squeezed the Pompey game in before the end of this month - giving us 4 home games in 15 days (potentially fewer bums on seats), a fixture right at the end of the window (when management may be otherwise engaged), and of course less time for our new players to have settled (and in the case of Goodwin, get match fit).

Just hope we get the required 8-10 points over the next 4 games to justify the decision.

I bought a ticket at 1 o'clock at the stadium. I ask the girl at the kiosk, do you think it'll go ahead. She said pitch inspection tomorrow..
Then someone in the background said no it's been cancelled. The weathers fine tomorrow...

It's currently 5 degrees in Oxford, apparently due to reach 6 degrees tomorrow afternoon, and not meant to drop below freezing tonight. Surely it'll be on.

I'm only a mile or so away, it's thawing out fine here and they can use the heater on shaded bits, surely it should be OK?

Plunge your tool in! That's one way to test for frost I guess!
