General Stadium Disrepair

I was speaking to my sons friends dad the other day, he went to a game just before Christmas and was appalled by the state of the toilets in the North Stand, his son didn’t want to use the toilet as they were dirty!

Once you go down the steps provided from the back of the North Stand you are on Ox City Councils land/responsibility.

The "desire line" that has been worn down across the grass bank is an informal route so there is no legal responsibility to maintain it by any party.

As for the toilets.......... make sure you go before leaving your hostelry of choice.

This is a poor experience for your son's friend. There is a team of cleaners onsite during matches, so if this is reported at the time they can get over to deal with it. How were they last week? Let us know if they have not improved and we'll look into it further.

@OUSP, is there obvious signing in the toilets giving contact information on who to report this to? If not, can this be looked into, it would be an easy 'win'.

There should be a frame with the report it info in each loo block, including reporting facilities issues. This was one of the points we had put in place for this season. Let me know if they are missing in any of the blocks and I'll get a list of replacements needed.

They always look dirty, the floor needs a deep clean, even power washing.

Hope with the new stadium, the family area gets its own toilets and not used with the entire stand.

They were industrial-scrubbed in the close season, but the stains are so awful. The fact that they were never painted doesn't help

Maybe the maintenance and cleaning one should have its own poster, I have read that one and will admit that I haven’t realised it’s for that as well, so maybe others don’t?

Because all of concourse underneath the east stand has never been finished it looks terrible and is falling apart, still no tvs working as well, must be over a year now.

Let's put it this way, he done the job on the cheap. He done the bare minimum, cheapest materials, no 4th stand.
He never done any of the specifications of ..the original design. Otherwise that would of been a quite nice stadium.
But no ,all he done & still does what slum landlords do....paying him over price rent for a s**t tip. Shouldn't be allowed to get away with it...

The maintenance is carried out to an absolute bare minimum with maximum delays. Stadco mantra on the office wall is "ignore issues as long as you can, solve with cheapest solution".

Let's not completely let the club off the hook here, if you rented a property and after year it was dirty because you didn't clean that's not down to the landlord.

Obviously different story if something is broken then you'd expect your landlord to fix it.

I don't think cleaning or maintenance are the clubs remit as they, all supposed to come under stadium company as part of the rental fee. We have not even been the sole tennant (rugby team, language school etc) for a fair chunk of our time there.

It is down to the landlord if cleaning is their responsibility as part of the contract though...

Does the stadium company stop the club from doing these tasks? Even if the stadium company is obligated to do them and is not doing so, the club has a duty of care to the fans to ensure that they can watch games in comfort and safety. Add to this, the reputation of the club is far from enhanced by the appalling state of some of the very basic facilities offered by the stadium. The club shouldn’t hide behind StadCo, they should seek redress with them but not at the expense of supporters’ enjoyment. Even in the pure fantasy world of us playing at the Triangle in 26, that’s still over two seasons people have to slop around in P**s and sit in areas awash in pigeon droppings.

Not good enough.

We wont have access to the stadium or permission to just go doing cleaning/maintenance work, that's not how it works.

In which case, the club should refuse to sell tickets to areas of the ground where facilities are not up to scratch and seek redress through the courts/arbitration.

They cannot just pass the buck and expect fans to endure a poor experience on and off the pitch.
