National News Boris Johnson

Selling out gold was SO STUPID it defies belief. Arrrghhh why are they ALWAYS so stupid.
And I will call you Captain Hindsight.

From the FT

'On this one occasion, Mr Brown’s decision was the right one. Let speculators go gambling on a shiny metal, if they want to. For most governments in rich countries, holding gold remains a largely pointless activity.'

There were three cronies that were expected to be eleveated to the Lords in the honours list. It is is suspected that these were blocked by Sunak to prevent by elections. The one who didn't resign is Alok Sharma. He is MP for Reading West and his majority was only 4,000 in 2019.

Our Prime Ministers of the past are really nothing to be proud about are they.

Blair - war criminal
Johnson - professional liar
Cameron - classic out of touch eton elite
May - most naive PM in our history

The bar is so low isn't it
Don’t forget Truss!

Boris was born in the USA and I believe held a duel passport until a couple of years ago then relinquished the USA half . All he is fit for is knocking women up , wish I had his appetite but at 76 I can't even see it !

Not can he!

Depends what you read.

For balance :

For everyone who says something is right, someone else will say it is wrong.

But facts are facts, it was a bad call and billions of £££ were lost. Indeed, it could have been a great move had his personal beliefs about the gold market come to fruition, but they didn’t.

He made a wrong call.

From Sunak's words this morning - the appointments (apparently 8 of the requested peerages) were blocked by HOLAC - Sunak refused Johnson's request to overrule this decision/ask for a re-evaluation (delete depending on whether you believe the hopeless technocrat or the pathological liar). All of this is Johnson playing the Trump gamebook whereby the "establishment" is refusing the will of the people (despite in both cases them being pretty much the definition of establishment in their respective countries) and playing on culture war BS. Boris won't care about losing his precarious seat, or sending a wrecking ball through the Conservative party. He is playing the longer game where he will personally benefit in the future, after election defeat, where he rides in and saves/leads the Conservatives back to "glory".

He hasn’t done anything since he got the bullet as PM besides go on holiday and prance around America doing speeches for hundreds of thousands of pounds at a time, so I’m not sure his output is going to change much regardless of his status. Whether he’s a “serving” MP or not, nobody in Uxbridge is going to see or hear from him.

He never cared about the Tory party any more than he cared about the country as a whole. The bloke once wrote a book on Churchill where he claimed that he only decided to stand up to Hitler because he thought it was the best thing for his political career, so that tells you everything about the man. He views everything and everyone as fair game no matter the consequences, so long as he gets what he wants. Then when he gets it (whatever ‘it’ may be) he’s never capable of keeping hold of it, because he’s lazy and incompetent as well as a pathological liar. He gets the boot from every job he gets his grubby little hands on and hasn’t got it in him to make a single meaningful relationship work in his personal life.

I can’t wait to see what he does next. This is what happens when you give a baby a machine gun. Eventually you can’t get it off them.

Totally agree yet whenever BoJo is discussed on Newsnight, some ruddy-faced usually obese peer or MP appears on screen to support him unconditionally..........

There will always be people who unconditionally support shysters because they ether have too much to lose, or are so unbelievably naive that they actually think said shysters has redeeming qualities.

The likes of Trump and Boris push politics even further down the shitter than it already is, and also allows said supporters to parrot the tired old line "they're all as bad as each other" like they're all in a race to the bottom.

Are you talking of Boris or Robbo , they are similar profiles !

Well unsurprisingly the privileges committee report is pretty damning. If he was still a MP, they'd have suspended him for 90 days! They've also added that he shouldn't get a former member's pass.

This from Nick Eardley, on the BBC live feed, sums it up:

Stand back; a committee of MPs has said Boris Johnson mislead MPs, then mislead a committee, then tried to undermine the democratic process.

Guilty, as was pretty much a given, the lying, slippery bastard pre-empted them by resigning as MP a few days ago...btw whens's the by-election for that now vacant seat due to take place?

he's had his former members (access) pass to HoC removed

its kinda ironic that he's been thrown under the (big shiny red with a hollow claim on the side) bus by his peers

To be honest the only person who threw Boris under the bus was Boris. He's a habitual liar. He lies to his wife, he lies to parliament, he lies to the public, he even lies to himself so much that he probably can't even remember what is lies and what is truth.

He thought he could just lie his way out of trouble, and the media would just forget all about it, but that's not how it works. The more you lie, the more the media will dig and dig. He would have done better just to hold his hands up and admit the error of his ways, and taken his punishment, but even now he is trying to weasel his way out of it by questioning the integrity of the privileges committee. The thing is that now, people, even ardent Tories are no longer interested in his pathetic excuses. He should just scuttle away and just continue making a living as an after-dinner speaker, but of course his arrogance and delusions of grandeur mean that hell will freeze over before that happens.

Bloody hell. Did he lie about brexit as well?!! 🤥🤥🤥

And now he's having a full on Trump style tantrum in response.

Good riddance to the detestable, lying, good for nothing, responsibility vacuum sack of s**t.

As I may have said once or twice before over this sorry episode in UK politics, his Classic Master at Eton had him sussed as far back as 1982, and nothing has much change in his over-privileged, entitled existence ever since.

He and his ilk represent everything that has gone wrong with western democracy. In it for themselves and their chums and attempting to hang on to power and control at all costs by throwing out a few populist lies to hoodwink enough of the great unwashed to get them onside.

How much taxpayer’s money was wasted on firstly Boris’ insistence on holding this enquiry, rather than just fessing up.

Then how much money did he waste on lawyers who were tasked with working on the thinnest of defences??

The answer to both those questions is . . . .

Boris doesn't give a flying f**k
