Na. The chairman said on Tuesday that they were looking at other options after Fleetwood didn't want to sell even though we offered 500k. That has all happened in the past couple of weeks.
Hmm, old news as far as I know. Either way, we can agree it’s unlikely JM will be coming here.

Presumably it's a track record of goals that we are chasing with this striker so if it's a Premier League youngster, it's either somebody that's been out and scored goals somewhere or prolific in the PL2. That can't be a massive list.

Don’t think anything will happen today now on the transfer front in terms of players coming in, especially with the season starting tomorrow.

Now I’ve said that we’ll imminently get the klaxon!!

It is honestly the hardest money in the world to spend our 500k, we've been trying to spend it the last few windows without any success!

You can't compare this window to previous Kip. No way would Karl have attracted Rodrigues , Woltman, McEachran and Mark Harris to sign on permanently, he would of possibly got Thorniley but no way would we have signed the 3 loanees we have either.

It's going to take more than one window to sort the mess out Karl left and the dead wood we are left with but Manning is giving it a hell of a shot this window.

Agreed, it was only a week or two ago where many of us were saying we’d only expect two more to come in (LB and striker), and whilst we’re still searching for them, we’ve also brought in Mills and Woltman.

It’s almost like building a squad by stealth, similar to when we had the likes of now PL Joe Rothwell playing second-fiddle to Lundstram and Lego.

I'm absolutely not saying it's not been a good window. It absolutely has and huge credit to Manning, Ed and the board. We should see a very different team tomorrow.

It was a light-hearted comment about the mythical 500k that we supposedly spend bidding every window since time began. From Matt Tubbs, to Matthew Barnes-Homer, to Will Grigg, to Jack Marriott.

'All we want is a striker we've heard of'

Since his name has come up, Wilder absolutely didn’t rate Tubbs (lol) so that move was never remotely on, despite most people on TiU at the time being utterly convinced that we would be in for him. Never even sniffed at the guy.

Halcyon days in terms of the rumour mill.

Aren't we past the cutoff for players registered for tomorrow now????....

.....which incidentally brings home how close the new season is....😁😁😁😁

As previously mentioned Findlay, Wildschut and Anderson cost more than £500k last season combined.
