+++ 25/01/20 Newcastle United v OUFC FAC +++

Bbc and guardian reports suggest we were lucky not to concede that Var penalty. I thought they were lucky not to get a booking. Thoughts?
I don't think he dived to win a penalty. The fact he was straight back on his feet and not appealing demonstrated that. The replay shows Ruffles go to kick but then pull out. Their play anticipated he was going to get taken out and dived to avoid that. I've done that in football. It's like someone clenching their fist and then pretending to punch someone and that person flinching.

Yes and we won't see them again until we next play a premiersh@t club or the next Wembley game. Glory hunters are welcome when there is room for them but there is no way that you give them priority.
I realise we live in Brexit times, when people are divided Brexit/Remain, Patriot/Leftie, Freedom Loving/ Communist, but for crying out loud this is about tickets to a football match. How about people are allowed to buy tickets regarded of whether they are ‘real’ supporters or ‘plastics’ and just hopefully enjoy the game.

Out of all the replays, we look like being the most likely for tv selection I’d of thought. I don’t know which broadcaster pays more BBC or BT. Should be the same?

I think if we don’t get selected then it would be a travesty.

Let’s hope for a nice incentive from the draw tomorrow at 19:15 on the One show, and draw an Anfield or an Old Trafford or my preference Tottenham away.

Have to disagree with you on this one! How many penalties have you conned the ref into giving you?
you are Ashley Young and I claim my £5

A good few whooshes going on this morning with regard to tickets for the replay!!!

It will be fairly straight forward. Season ticket holders and members will get first choice (one per person). Then they'll go on open sale for everyone else, probably online and probably going very quickly. If you committed to travelling 1000 miles to and from Newcastle, I'm sure you will easily commit to getting online when the time comes. We saw with the Man City game how high the demand is so everyone will be forewarned. If we can work it so we get more for the Blackpool game then great. If we get new fans in then that's also great. We will sell out, and we will make it a great atmosphere!

Trust me when you are running at pace or going round someone and you anticipate you are about to be taken out or kicked because that's how the player is shaping up, the natural reaction is to move (dive, jump etc out the way). A bit like when you are driving and someone goes to pull into your lane in front before pulling out, you will react.

I would give priority to people whose last game was the milk cup final, then Newcastle fans and if their are any left make a free for all on the day of the game.

I watched the Milk Cup Final on TV but my brothers were there. Does that count?

Tying in to a game beforehand is something that we often used to do.
It always guarantees a bigger gate for the nominated home tie and I think we would be silly not to do it for the Blackpool game. Timing isn’t perfect with it being so close, but as long as it is well publicised, then I think that we could turn a pretty decent crowd in.
Keeping the ticket stub to redeem for a cup ticket makes sense.

It's a massive ask given Blackpool tickets have already been on sale with people buying friends and a short turnaround. The aim will be to sell quickly and easily not faff around matching Blackpool ticket purchases with fan numbers and so on.

Tickets will not sell out immediately so there will be plenty of time for anyone who gets their a**e into gear to get one.

Give Newcastle the entire North Stand so those who couldn't sample the famous Geordie atmosphere on Saturday get the chance to.

No, as when we give a team the entire north stand it is literally impossible for us to win the game due to the unbelievable, massive boost it gives the other team. It’s why we got relegated don’t you know...

Tell that to Messi!

That’s what VAR is there for because the idiots at the BBC and the Guardian don’t understand football.

There will be plenty of plastics there but S/T holders and members should get first dibs, then it’s a scramble for the remaining tickets

I'm sure I wouldn't need too, he is a professional footballer who will have experienced it many times.

as an aside to yesterdays away result and performance.... the kit? who decided on the yellow with blue trim 'home' shirt, with white shorts and socks? its not the best combination! ( basically a 'Home' kit shirt with away kit socks and shorts)

why not wear Yellow sock and shorts, the 'home'- yellow with blue trim- shirt really doesnt look right with white socks and shorts, IMO

can understand why the team didnt wear navy blue shorts , 'clash' with Newcastle's black shorts, all yellow , which has been worn several times this season already ( If memory serves), wouldve looked a lot better, I think
