Home Match Day Thread +++ 17/3/2018 OUFC v PETERBOUROUGH +++

A good all round performance against an inform side, so well done to OUFC

Brilliant pass from Lego for our second, looks on the replay like the keeper should have done better though.

I wish we had a striker like Marriott. Horrible little s**t to play against, consistently gets his shots away, he like a little Danny Hylton
Marriott and Hylton formed a good partnership at Luton. Every time they both scored was a cue for Jeff Stelling to wheel out his joke about Tommy Travelodge!

I feel Henry has quietly been a very important player for us this year. Has popped up with some important goals.

He is getting the useful knack of scoring. Hopefully he can continue today's form.

As an aside, I did like the formation today which the midfield looked far more comfortable and able to influence the game.

Great win today. Great commitment from the players, a joy to watch. If we play like this for the rest of the season we will be in L1 next season. Ref was bad, posh were fisical and trying to bully the ref. But We WON big grin

Yes, no wingers standing idle for half the time

Hats off to THAT guy who kept shouting “LINE LINE LINE” for the last twenty minutes or so. Loved that he seemingly didn’t have a clue how much joy he was bringing to those of us around him. LIIINE!

On the pitch, Brannigan was superb in the first half. Dickie was very good again and will be brilliant alongside Nelson when he’s fit.

Kane was very good again too - would be nice to see him here next year as an OUFC player.

Ledson was on it as well today. Strong in the tackle, full of energy, always buzzing.

The atmosphere today was excellent, probably due to the people who braved the cold were die hard supporters or the fact we hate Steve Evans, either way it felt good.

Today we saw a team not just individuals running around, I could fault nobody.

But the ref, was a joke, being a short a**e he kept having to look around players to see what was going on, a real twit.

Slight side note - are fleetwood absolutely fucked? My understanding was they had thrown a lot of money at this season last summer, an unsustainable amount given the size of the club, with expectations of going up. If they go down, is their future in jeopardy?

The signing of Connor certainly suggested that they were going to chuck money at it.

Not the best performance of the season, but under the circumstances a battling determined display by a team who really wanted it, a very welcome 3 points to lift the players, management and fans, we are not out of the woods but more of the same gritty determination should see us safe this season, it’s a small step in the right direction.

Definitely not the worst though. That's one of the best performances post Pep IMO.
