I've seen a few mention that Sykes was lucky not to get a booking for the challenge in the first half - absolute rubbish. Their defender created the contact and went over like he'd been shot. I'm glad the ref didn't fall for it like some of you have!
He slid so far he ended up in my back garden mate…

Obviously very disappointed with result and performance, but strangely it didn't seem to matter. It was just brilliant to be back in the Stadium watching my team play at last after over a year. It wasn't meant to be tonight. We are just not ready for Championship football yet. Let's look forward to next season and see what happens.

But what if a few hundred people felt the same way I did? You can’t minimise the influence of the individual, when collectively, those individuals make up the crowd! Say what you like, tonight was poor.
it was obvious it was never going to be a loud atmosphere,it wasnt a normal game.

that was the slowest slide ive ever seen, im surprised he even managed to make any contact with the player. It was just a blackpool player trying to get Sykes booked.

Our ‘world renowned ‘ centre backs got monstered tonight. It wasn’t as if we should have been surprised by Blackpool’s tactics - it
was almost exactly the same set up as March home game. We simply could not cope with Sims. I think Blackpool are a good side and will do well if they go up.

Well played Sykes plus some amazing bits of skill from Barker who I would simply love to see us buy - but it’s not going to happen is it?

Er, that’s it.

I’m sorry to have to say this but playing like that CamBran and Ruffles appeared to have checked out already.

Plus we really missed Sam
Long. Hanson is a pub footballer whose next stop must be Mansfield.

Thought the pitch and the stands looked great the club put on a good show in terms of building an atmosphere and our fans were spirited enough at the start. But when you’re playing a tangerine boa constrictor I’m not surprised the atmosphere seeped away.

Good to be back at live football though and it’s been a very entertaining season.

So we shouldn’t be too despondent...

Hanson was absent - we didnt have a right back for much of the game - abysmal all around. Player performances : No one more than a 4. We made them look like superstars. The scum would have hammered us today
We should have played Elliott Lee tonight.

Not really, that performance was worse then the Wycombe game last year, Robbo might be a decent manager but his team has proved time and time again they can't rise to the occasion and bottle it.
Ok let me think

Rochdale away

MK Dons away

Crewe away

Gillingham home

Burton home

Bottom 4 at xmas to play offs not bad for useless players and manager that can't rise to the occasion

Many would be happy to reach the play offs at the start of the season but many forget it's not a given when you do as it's just a lottery

Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say the opposition were better on the day,

The problem on this forum is we are not allowed to lose a game of football without having to read the same negative repetitive stuff and it just becomes boring

For those who weren't there and are moaning about the atmosphere. It was pretty good until the second goal went in. But don't underestimate how hard it is to get things started when everyone is sitting socially distanced, wearing masks and the performance is so poor. There really was very little to cheer or to get us excited! As for the game, others have covered it - but for me the thing that stood out about our performance was the lack of any pace both throughout the team and in the way we played the ball. Sykes was our best player, some of the others were frankly awful.

Playing 3 at the back and flooding the midfield might be the way to go to beat Blackpool. Their midfield basically played as a defence and they relied on the 2 forwards to do the damage.

Who’s the third CB?

Nonsense. Why did the ref give a free kick to Blackpool then ? Whether contact was made is irrelevant, it’s all about being in control and that was never ever Sykes’ ball to go for. He had a 30% chance at best of getting the ball. Yes, he managed to keep his feet down and that was clever of him but it was a risky challenge and a stupid one in the circumstances.

Exactly. There’s a lot of pissy fans on here tonight saying things like ‘why oh why do we always mess it up?’ We snuck in rather unexpectedly and spent a mere three days of the regular season in the playoffs. Our record against the top sides this season has been less than stellar. Some on here seemed to think that we had a divine right to just turn up and a Wembley appearance would be ours.

Did we play poorly or did Blackpool play to their strengths to nullify ours and make us look poor? I thought we did plenty right tonight but came up against a side that looked like it had kept 28 clean sheets in a season. 28! Let’s give them some kudos, eh, rather than bemoan Ruffels being out of position or Henry shooting over the bar. Credit where credit is due.

Still one more 90 minutes to go. It would be good to get at least one against them. Nothing against Blackpool in 360 minutes of football would rather reveal that we aren’t there yet!
