Away Match Day Thread +++ 21/04/2018 Doncaster v OUFC match day thread +++

Ledson is off to Preston

Even if we should be playoff contenders next season, I can't see us getting Lego on a new contract. Sell in the summer. Hopefully Rothwell and Nelson on new contracts though.

Wingers and full backs the priority in terms of shopping. Then we can see how Robinson actually wants to set out a team when survival isn't the priority.

He may well stay now. If the unthinkable had happened I’m certain he’d be having talks with Preston pretty soon.
There still needs to be a clear out of players. Dickie and Rothwell should be top of the list to be retained, along with Eastwood. Still not too sure about Obika as we need two new strikers. James Henry is improving with each game and is a good provider of goals so has to be kept at all costs

A cracking day out,
Excellent weather,
Tremendous away support,
And a vital 3 points,
Our boys battled all the way and today more than showed we are good enough for league 1....
Probably our best visit to “The Keepmoat Stadium” ? ever.....!

So for us to go down Rochdale, Oldham or Walsall need to win two of their last three if we fail to pick up another point..

Has anyone ever gone down with 53 points??

No, for us to go down Rochdale, Oldham AND Walsall need to win two of their last three if we fail to pick up another point..

A subtle but smile-inducing difference!

I love the way KR has played to the fans, got them on his side and is now putting pressure on Tiger to back him. I understand that Rafa has a similar style of managing his management.

Not forgetting that Gillingham would need at least one point, possibly two, from their remaining two games, and Wimbledon would need four points from their last three games, unless goal difference switches around a lot.

Eastwood - 9. Incredible. At least 3 worldie saves.

Kane - 7. Ok defensively + looked to get forward.
Dickie - 8. Imperious, did especially well considering the early booking.
Mous - 6. Definite weak link. Shaky and didn't look convincing in midfield. Some good moments.
Ruffels - 7. Solid, can't think of any mistakes.

Brannagan - 6. Pretty anonymous, seems wasted where he is.
Mowatt - 5. Totally anonymous, slow and scared to take risks.
Ledson - 8. So energetic, always looking for a pass. Great assist and never stopped pressing.
Rothwell - 6. Didn't really stand out.

Thomas - 5. For someone who had been rested, looked as lethargic as usual.
Obika - 5. Obviously told to be a target man and win the headers, but can't jump.

Henry - 7. Cracking finish, looked lively.
Nelson - 7. Looked good again, especially aerially.
Hall - 6. Didn't have time to make an impact but looked quick.

KR - 8. Wasn't sure about his starting XI but he knows best. Brilliant subs, Henry to obviously win but Nelson was vital for defending the long balls they started to put in. Missed his post match comments but seen a bit about them, can anyone summarise?

Anyone know how many we took? It looked like over a thousand but I am notoriously crap at guessing numbers.

Another big Henry goal, normally he'd have put himself in the mix for player of the year, but Easty today just proved why, for me at least, he is the runaway leader for it, a couple of sensational stops. Really good away day, Donny seemed a nice bunch, ground was good and we're staying up, lets get these last 2 games done with and lets get some of this shite out of the club, maybe add a 1 before the 6 Robinson mentioned earlier and we will be about there, really do need an overhaul of this squad imo

What a great day out and everyone connected to Oxford United football club should be very proud tonight.
In a match of such importance the management got it spot on the players fought like lions and the fans were fantastic and a credit to our great club.
Well done OUFC !!!!
