I'd take the FA Cup as well, don't get me wrong, but dismissing the glory of winning the League Cup just because the club doesn't make money from it (as is common amongst fans these days) doesn't hold with me. There was nothing like a midweek cup game at The Manor under the lights - some of the best atmospheres I've ever experienced as an Oxford fan. Hopefully the new ground will be tighter to the pitch, and fully enclosed so we can get back to it.
The atmosphere was half a lifetime ago.......it seems like yesterday. Who can forget the fibreglass milk bottle being wheeled out to the centre circle. As you say, such memories. More to come, I hope....................

Mrs Lounger came up with the idea of having breakfast at Frankie & Bennys - turns out they don't do breakfast anymore and don't open until 12:00 noon. Holiday Inn Express is now residents only (but not a covid quarantine hotel anymore) and Hampton by Hilton is the same.

Bacon roll from @Farrscatering it is then! At least the weather forecast is ok, just about. Cloudy but low chance of rain.

If people are moaning now about kick off time and day getting moved for a 1 off game, then I’d hate to see what those same people are going to be like when we do finally get to the championship and games are being moved all the time for TV!

It's the FA Cup, its place is a Saturday at 3.00 pm.

It's been moved on the whim of TVP for no other reason than they might be "short-staffed" because they shipped a few plod off to COP26.

The last time we played them on a Sunday was 5 years ago......... now if anyone can come up with a valid reason for TVP sticking their awe in let me know.

Hopefully no gale force wind like that that hit the Leys yesterday!

Roll back the years. Early November 1960. Hendon at home, FA Cup replay. 3-2 United under lights. Gate 10600. Wound up losing at Leicester in Round Three but cemented our commitment to League status in 1962. Just a little bit of info for those interested in United's history.

No need for dot counters to see that ticket sales are not overwhelming.
It must be very disappointing for the club. Three wins on the trot in the league, reduced prices, a team scoring goals and playing good football and most season ticket holders have passed on their reserved seat.

The Loungers will be there, usual seats and ready for another win.

Would really like to understand what motivates fans to ignore this game. It's the FA cup, it's our boys, what is not to like?

I‘ve just bought a ticket for my normal ST seat for Sunday.

The ticket was sat in my account and it was very easy to buy it.

The only person moaning about the kick off time doesn’t bother attending games anyway.

Because it is a Sunday.

Because it is a lunchtime kickoff.

Because there is no valid reason for the two points above.

2 of us pompeyyellows coming up for the game. Love the FA Cup. Kick off time fits perfect for us. Bacon rolls before kick off still light when I get home and time for a beer or 2 in my local. What's not to like.

Based on ticket sales its not just me..................................... 🤷‍♀️
...... Sunday 1pm kickoff is a ridiculous time for an FA cup 1st round match( that isn't being shown as a live match on TV either) .... Its gonna be a close call making kickoff for that one from my place of worship too   ;)

But we are writ large on the BBC advert for it's coverage, that crown works for me

I wasn’t going to bother with this game but bought a ticket in the end as we’ve not got a huge number of home games on the weekend coming up. Hoping to see more of Maguane, McNally, Williams amongst some of the usual starters.
