I’m fully aware of that, but it’s incredibly alarming, and I can’t remember two very poor back to back transfer windows for a long time.

That positive bus will breakdown eventually, a bit like our activity. No movement!

I wonder if we will look back on a January window in which we signed Marcus Browne and first saw Sam Baldock and Ciaron Brown in yellow as ‘very poor’

Time will tell

Charli Patino left out of the squad for the Arsenal tour…[emoji102]

If we were ever going to sign a young PL midfielder on loan, he would be my first choice! Unbelievable for his age, and despite signing a new deal at Arsenal, he’s horrendously underused!

I think he’ll go on loan to another PL or top-end Championship side.
Good shout.
Charlie Patino does have connections with our academy

I dabbled with it for the first time during the initial lockdown (as they were supposed to have stock of some essential items).
It did a job, but I find the worst thing is the dates of products - things go off well before they should - including milk. Almost as though the supply chain is crap and stuff gets left lying around out of the chillers etc. Fruit and veg awful.
Plus I hate the tills. I am a self service guy and there's not enough of them.
Oh, and no customer service (not that I use it, I'm not Karen).
And it smells a bit.
And there was once blood all over the handle to the fresh meat fridges - and when I went back a few days later it was still there. During a pandemic.

All in all cheap, but not a pleasant experience. For that reason I'm out.

For the record:

1. Sainsburys. Not cheap, but generally decent quality and pleasant experience - Matty Taylor.
2. M&S Food. Expensive, but pleasant and good quality as a top-up to Sainsburys - Sam Baldock.
3. Waitrose. See M&S, but not actually as good quality and possibly even more expensive - Billy Bodin.
3. Co-op. If you have a fairly big store you can do a half decent top-up shop. Some smaller stores are scabby - Marcus McGuane.
4. Asda. If you've got a pleasant 'newer' store you're alright. Quality far better than you'd think and good for Branded stuff as definitely cheaper with no compromise on quality - Ryan Williams.
5. Morrisons. Like Asda but worse. Anthony Forde.
6. Tesco. Grim but also expensive. No idea why people still shop there in this day and age - Sam Winnall.
7. Lidl. Fridge handles covered in blood - Jamie Hanson.

(never shopped in an Aldi before you ask).

Can't quite believe I just typed that out - but can't waste it now - SEND!
I agree with your assessment largely, but I think we are being harsh on Morrisons. Their fresh stuff is decent, and occasionally with their "taste the difference" range I really can taste some premium quality. Dependable. Never lets you down.

I'd say our Morrisons player is Sam Long, dependable, solid, and his Oxford roots taste the difference.

Waitrose has that bit of extra quality you can't find in other supermarkets, as I can just about afford it I'd go Brannagan.

Fortunately we had decent results in January but if we have to wait until more or less the last week of August and we don’t repeat the January feat that could be 18 points dropped.
But what I can’t work it’s all very well being positive but surely something isn’t right and is this what we want for the club.

I'm sorry that's a very slanted view of their recruitment this season, to divert away from our current failings. If they got it spot on last season, there they had a spell of winning so many games, that was hardly down to just 2 players.
If their recruitment team got it so right last season then the the odds are far more stacked in their favour to get it right this season as well. That's common sense.
I mean… I’ve been nothing but complimentary about them so I’m confused as to how you got that from what I said. I haven’t knocked what they did last year or suggested they can’t repeat it.

I also didn’t say those 2 players were the only reason they were good last season. I suggested they needed replace those key players and I don’t think there are 35 ‘guaranteed’ (if there is such a thing) goals in those players they’ve brought in. Can’t see how I’ve done them any injustice here at all I have to be honest. It’s public knowledge they want a striker anyway.

I also haven’t distracted from our current situation at all so I’ve no idea where you’re coming from on this one.

Doesn’t look like there’s any chance of Morton dropping to league 1 after Klopp’s Thailand interview:

"By the way, Tyler Morton in training, incredible! He plays as a No.8 now, we don't force him to play as a controlling No.6 in a Premier League game [like versus Spurs]. He's training as an 8, and it's like 'wow, how good is that?!' He's still here.

"There's really a lot of excitement for this situation from our side, and like I say, if you want guarantees then you have to look somewhere else. We work a lot with expectations, and our starting point most of the time is very, very positive."

Speaking in Bangkok while on the club's pre-season tour, the German also told Sky Sportsabout the Liverpool academy product's qualities. "Tyler Morton has definitely made the next steps," Klopp - who recently signed new four-year contract at Anfield - went on. "He played good games for us but at 6 when he's actually an 8. When you see him now training, absolutely exceptional."

MK have signed quality players, so they are hardly anybody's. In the same vein "once the bodies arrive, " as long as they are fit to play and not crocked.
You’ve totally misinterpreted this as well.

What I mean is any signing (regardless of ability) will look better than no signing to us right now but once we start to bring people in ourselves it will stop us feeling like we are so far behind.

I think post transfer window we need a fans forum and we really need to pressure the club to talk through the issues with signing players and to tell us what they are going to change going forward to improve it.

Cracking me up that, maybe he’s a 7?

if we get him he could be a 10! (out of 10 signing)

We shouldn’t be hanging on for this sort of loan anyway, we need to get some basic reinforcements in and worry about PL loans later

I wouldn’t say it’s deliberate, because of course, the club (and every other club?) will always want to get business done as quickly as possible. More often than not, that’s just not the reality of the situation. I am sure, given our decent recruitment history, targets would have been identified some time ago.

However, as I mentioned before, higher quality players will have higher-demands, and those deals will take longer to complete, due to the finances/conditions that those deals involve. There are plenty of free agents out there that we could sign in a matter of hours, but those aren’t necessarily the players that we need at the club, if we are serious about ‘going for it’ this season.

If we’re looking at bringing in the likes of Morton/Scarlett on loan, Cadden/Finlay/Devoy and Whyte on permanent deals, then yes, I can totally understand why those deals have taken a little longer to complete. We can sign shite for the sake of it, just to say that we have; or, we can take our time and ensure that the players we end up with, are the ones that we actually want, and are best for the team!

Up to this point, I am yet to think “b****r, we’ve missed out on xyz” - I suppose you can think that about every player that joins another club, but have we actually been interested in them? Probably not. It’s hard to give you a definite answer to your question, because I don’t know for sure. This is just my opinion.

I’m sure by this time next week, there will still be space on the positive bus. If all goes well, I hope to see you on it! [emoji4][emoji590]
Positive bus is emptying Lefty.
