A worrying comment from the from today's OM :-

I am told, & I really don't know if its true, but sounds feasible and it is that FA & EFL will not ratify these property developers as fit and proper owners, for various & obvious reasons, but if they aren't allowed to continue they will not be guarantor's to our massive debt which they have increased by about 35% in the 4 yrs they have been here despite selling several players for millions, therefore we would likely fold.

So we are caught between a rock and a hard place. Fantastic basis to be applying for a new stadium isn't it.

Pity we haven't got any local journalists with the will, bottle and intelligence to investigate and report the truth. I fear it will only come out when it's too late.

FA promised they would no let another "BURY" happen, hence this stalemate.

Im guessing this is a comment left on the oxford mail site rather than in the physical paper by a reporter?

It's incorrect though and its not the reason why the takeover hasn't been announced.

Not a chance that's accurate given Derby have just been taken over by a property developer.

I would guess the biggest issue is confirming whom they are, why, and where the money is coming from longer term.

Didnt seem to be an issue with the owners of Newcastle though so would be interesting IF that ever stopped them taking over us.

It's not the issue, our takeover is conditional on planning being approved on Stratfield Brake. Even if scotchers denies it I believe my source over him!

By this logic, the takeover won’t be announced for another year or so given the elongated planning process for an application as complex as this.

More than likely yes.

We were saying this a year ago, so perfectly possible.

If that's the case, why have we heard in the recent past, that it was close to completion?
It's been over a year since this thread opened, and it started with people talking about press conferences and announcements, so most thought it was very close to completion then too.

Also seen the shares being adjusted on companies house with Tiger now owning a minority share. The owners are pumping serious money into the training ground, transfer fees, wages etc, but here we are, still no announcement. Everything feels like we've been taken over without the official announcement

That does look to be an Anti Stratford Brake dirty tricks person.

I’ve felt this way for a little while. What I can’t work out is why it wouldn’t have been announced if so.

I’m mainly confused as I think it would only help our planning cause to have a clear presence from the new majority owners.

I had always assumed that it would be announced well before the planning application goes in so that there is an increased sense of the club’s long-term vision, which would bolster the statutory consultation period and give us a sense of momentum.

Maybe the takeover is complete/close to complete but they don't want to announce it during a transfer window. You know for a fact once clubs know officially we have been taken over by very wealthy people that transfer/agent fees will go through the roof.

The easiest deals involve two willing parties. Hostile, or semi-hostile, deals are more troublesome.

Which one are we?
