National News The Brexit Thread 🇬🇧🇪🇺

What do you mean I don't have any? I gave three off the top of my head, in my post...

You then start commenting on my feelings about your love of your country, which literally makes no sense as that's not what QR or I were even talking about. I have no interest in how patriotic you claim to be!

Anyway I've had my fun now, you can all continue shouting into the void.
You’ve listed an allegedly, then Jeremy clarkson, who generally rude irrelevant of the subject and a blanket one regarding a LBC reporter.

I love the way you loose an argument, suggest that the opposing person is stupid and then walk away saying you’ve had your fun.

You do that quite a lot.

Couldn't agree any more with you MY.

Power always corrupts, the more power, the more the corruption. Hoping for a politician to come and save you is like believing in the tooth fairy. I trust the British public more than any greasy politician.

I'm sure there are some decent MPs/people involved in local politics but my experience has been overwhelmingly negative. Self-obsessed narcissists who think they should be the ones to tell other people what to do always seem to be drawn toward trying to get political power. Wanting to be a politician should automatically disqualify anyone from becoming so.
I personally wouldn't trust the public either. Wherever humans are making decisions, there's always going to be a risk (or more to the point, likelihood) that they will put their own interests above the greater good. That's without throwing personal feelings, emotions, biases etc into the mix.

Society if full of contradictions as a result of this.

You said 'at the time'. I really do not recall the calling out of leavers in the way you said until after the vote. It may have happened but I honestly don't recall it and you have not given any examples apart from 'guys in your office'.
The level of ferocity and bitterness towards leave voters intensified after the vote but was 100% there before, I can't give you a written statement but I myself was verbally abused by people at university when they found out my voting intention.

You might not have experienced it, but you voted Remain and I have no idea what class you are, or where you live, so your experiences are going to be different. The reason Leave supporters can be bolshie is because most of us felt a sneering and superiority attitude of some remain voters around us.

Yep - we're really being independent and looking to stamp our mark on our stuff and have our own standards....except that we're not: https://www.insideeulifesciences.co...tely-other-than-for-medical-devices-and-ivds/

Divergence won't happen because, as they might say in The Thick of It, it's difficult, difficult, lemon difficult.

Edit. What I do remember is warning of the detrimental impact Brexit would have on the economy (which are proven to be true) shouted down as project fear. I also remember this....

Remain lost, get over it :ROFLMAO:

But did you get that attitude from people you were with? Was it perceived, or did it happen?

There was an awful lot of attempts by the leave parties to smear remainers as as middle class snobs who thought they knew better. Properly posh MPs continued with that narrative That suggests that nearly half the country fits into that bracket.

Call me posh if you like but I’ve come from marston and I have a handful of GCSEs.

I like the idea of @bashamwonderland with the equalities brief.

Very happy with business and trade. Get a lot of good lunches and then room for me to grab Chancellor at a later stage.

I disagree - there were plenty of working class lads like Jacob Rees-Mogg, Boris Johnson and Nigel Farrage. I remember my dad saying they were "friends of the working man". f**k me.

I feel I could be sacking him from the cabinet and removing the whip fairly swiftly after he tries to convince @bazzer9461 to send warships to the channel to “sink the boats”

B*****s to that… I want to be Foreign Secretary
If we can get the whole world to adopt Bazzerese as the internationally accepted language of negotiation, then I think we're on to a winner (y)

Nobody will quite know what they've agreed to mind, but at least they will agree!

I’ve decided to put all the budget for sport into Badminton, as well as commissioning a panel of experts to invent a new ‘national sport’. I’ve got Lenny Henry, Howard Donald, a lesbian called Shelley who I met in a care home, and Gail from Coronation Street.

"And that, children is how "Cuppycatchball" became our national sport"

"Now if you'll be upstanding and join me in singing the new national song to accompany it, "ode to Birdio" . . .

Even if you did this, it would take generations to compete with China Japan and Malaysia.
