Out of interest do these games kick off early because there u21 have to get home to bed?
It's so we've still got time to drive up to Bristol to write naughty words on Manning's parking space, and not have too late a night.

Their mum's are waiting in the car park and don't want to be home any later than 11.30 on a school night.

Difficult to take too much from a game against kids, but the front 4 all very encouraging performances

Good result for the first half. Josh Murphy on the left hand had good spells as had Gats.

However, we're not playing a league one side. This feels and looks like a training game.

Those players who want minutes on Saturday need to up their performances for me.

Enjoying it, still good passing but a bit more full blooded and direct. Good to see Gats having a proper role rather than a silly cameo. Murphy has only really got one trick but it’s effective.

Yeah Murphy has had their RB on toast. Here's hoping he doesn't just go through the motions second half.

GOD very good as well.

If the opposition right back can't deal with it (and he can't), may as well keep doing it!

After that 45 minutes, I can see why GOD has been preferred to Perkins.
Yes, Perkins got the goal and credit to him for being in the right place at the right time, but GOD's all-round play has been vastly better and more dangerous.

Actually think Oisin Smyth has been the best player on the pitch. Has been knitting everything together whilst Gorrin and Henry have (understandably) looked a little rusty.

A cynic might suggest that we know from the Youth Cup run last year that GOD can do it against academy players, even those at the top clubs. It’s doing it in the league that’s been the problem.

That said, if he plays well and gets a bit of confidence that carries over into the league, it’s a testament to one of the few benefits this competition offers.

The problem is that he's quicker, bigger and stronger than his academy peers. And so he's able to just bully them into submission.

When he gets on in a League One game, for the most part he can't do that any more. Which is why he needs to develop the other parts of his game.
And I still think he'd be better placed to do that playing 90 minutes for a national league side every week, rather than ten minutes off the bench for us. He won't be able to bully the baby-eating central defensive ogres at that level either......

Thought Henry has done well so far. Passing‘s been OK.

EDIT: Subbed off now for Goodrham.

How many times did we beat Chelsea under the walking power point presentation and his gofer? Not once.

Donks had a very decent game .... Harris on Donks off, RR on
