Transfer News 2022/23 Season Incoming Transfers and a few other things

Why should we be waiting until 1st September?

The team should be ready for 30th July for the first game rather than letting eight games pass to get it right, six of which are league fixtures.

We’ve scuttled our chances of automatic promotion before within the first 10 games before because we’ve lost so many of them. Teams who go up automatically tend to only lose between five to ten league games all season and we’ve often filled our quota before October so we’re always playing catch up. August should be for finding that one extra signing or opportunity that you didn’t expect to come up or to find cover for an early and unexpected injury, not for adding a brand new defence into the mix.

Exactly what I’ve been saying all along! We even had a head start over some clubs, because we failed to make the playoffs. So our preparation should of been done, and targets should of been identified long ago. You need the new signings in for pre season! So they can blend in and start to gel. Then your not on the back foot.

The first eight fixtures are all very favourable at a glance, and I don’t think we should be heading in to the season with a threadbare squad. KR has had an improved budget, so there is no excuse!

People can say what they like, but the fact is we’ve sleepwalked in to this transfer window, just like we did in January.

Depends on the question. Is he the answer to being our new main striker? No. Is he a very cheap low risk option to be a back-up for Taylor, Baldock and ideally one other? Maybe.

Agreed.
Two Premier League teams saw something in him, and last time he was with us he looked quite good. People were sad that we didn’t retain his services for the 2nd season. We can’t go too wrong with Sinclair on a 1 year contract. And it’s a guarantee that he scores more goals than Winnall did last season.

They won't be lending us Joe Iaciofano, for nothing!

Had to google him to check he was real. Sounds like a character from The Sopranos.

Guiseppe 'Joe the Blow' Iaciofano. A rising star in the Aprile Crew and a good earner - his arrogance and complacency ultimately lead to Tony (reluctantly) ordering the hit after Joe offends a high ranking member of the Lupertazzi family whilst at a casino in Atlantic City.

Bit of fan fiction for you there on a Tuesday morning.

We have a friend whose son is an Agent for some Championship, L1 & L2 players. His father readily describes him as.. "an absolute bastard - but rich". The stories I have heard make your toes curl. One memorable one is when one of his charges was about to put pen to paper and sign for Stoke - with local media present - and it was terminated because he had a mobile phone call telling him another club had offered £10k a week more.
In this sort of climate I feel genuinely sorry for KR. We have a very well run club but I do wonder if our (new) money men really want to spend on the playing side of things.
I've posted plenty about Agents before but what i find odd re your post is that you give example of a player suddenly being offered 10k per week more, yet in your final sentence you infer the money men don't want to spend on players.

Maybe just maybe they cannot be spending such stupid sums that others clubs are doing and rightly so.

Your often offer valuable points in your posts, but i do sense a dislike or agenda towards the Owners which is a shame.

Half 11 on Friday morning I wrote this, went away for the weekend, and return to 38 further pages - have I missed anything of any value in there? I think I probably know the answer.

I am confused by the Sinclair trial or whatever it is being termed as. I believe one of the reasons he chose not to sign anywhere for the 21/22 season (and there were offers) was because he was looking to start his own business. Don't know if that is now up and running or imminently opening for him to now be ready to play football again.
Bit of a free hit I guess, we shall see what else happens this week....
And he was enjoying his new Lambo! 😆

Hey, don't blame us, it's you lot that's posting it all and squabbling amongst yourselves. We provide the playground, how you use the swings is down to you...
Maybe you could start deleting posts that are repetitions of what's already been said or are just boring?

'Boring' is subjective. Deleting repetitive posts, on this thread? I can go away from here for 2 hours and come back to 5 more pages - there is too much being posted, keeping up with it all whilst actually trying to work for a living is pretty tough. If people didn't rise to a lot of the posts then there wouldn't be this continual spinning round and round and round...

Rumours that 2 of the Mods have been asleep for days having to read this thread and a 3rd was last seen running down Grenoble Rd are as yet unfounded.;)
To be fair, Grenoble Road is quite a good run route.
