Maybe you wouldn't. And bless you for being so enlightened. I am sure some would. Be realistic. Show me one example of a loss where no Oxford fan criticised the substitutions. Not at all. I wouldn’t. You play players in their correct positions.
i think Brown is pretty good in the air and was brought on for that reason. What exactly was the point of throwing brown on in the 90th minute. Not like he’s a brick S***house of a CB is it? Especially with our penchant for floating free kicks and corners into the box with zero pace on them as well.
Because you're their manager and you watch them train every day, instead of relying on speculation on the Internet from people who don't?How can you develop if you aren’t given the chance? How do you know if they won’t thrive in that environment.
I just dont agree that theres no pressure. We are going for promotion. We need to win games. When we are losing 1-0 to promotion rivals with ten minutes left, there is a big pressure on our attackers to create. The opposition have a lead to defend, and they are laser focused on seeing it out. It is never harder to be an attacker than it is at that point. When someone is learning to drive, you don't start by handing them the keys on the ramp to join the M25.That was a no lose situation for us where we should of used them with very little pressure on them once we went 1-0 down.
Just because we don't bring someone on, doesn't mean it is stupid to have them on the bench. We don't know how a game is going to play out, so we don't know what we will need or what opportunity we will get. If we were two or three goals up, I'd expect the young lads to get the last few minutes. Great chance to get some exposure to a big crowd in a lower stakes scenario, and probably a lot more space if Derby are trying to attack or let their heads drop.Literally pointless having them there to not bring them on when with have nothing to lose at all
