Away Match Day Thread +++6/04/2019 Walsall v OUFC match day thread+++

Nonetheless...it's the 87th minute of an English Division 3 game that matters to no more than 7000 people in the universe. I ask again - who actually complains if he uses his loaf and doesn't count beans? Do you think bigwigs at the FA are going to pore over the footage and give him a week off for his heinous misdemeanour if he doesn't book Kashi a second time?

Personally I don't ask for consistency above all - I ask for the ref that know their place in the game is not to be noticed.

Well that 6999 might be complaining about the lack of consistency next game if the laws aren't consistently applied by the ref as that is the main complaint I hear and read about. Fair enough if you think the law is too prescriptive (I can agree with that) but the Ref did the right thing in this case.

Interesting to wonder what would happen if Kashi runs along the touchline and joins Sinclair celebrating in the corner, without entering the pitch.

Yes our squad is far stronger now. That is a very decent bench when Graham can't even get on the pitch.
It will be interesting to see whether the young players get many minutes.
James, Lofthouse, Jones, Smith, Little?

James is on loan at Oxford City isn't he? Little is definitely on loan at Woking and one of their best players apparently so hopefully like Baptiste, he can push into our 1st team next season.

Nothing should happen as he hasn't entered the field of play without permission.

Wasnt aware on the yellow card rule for running on the pitch and celebrating. Is it a rule that has just been implemented this season? As last season at Charlton a few subs ran onto the pitch to celebrate the Ledson winner and I cant recall any of them getting carded.

Long standing law, around when I was a Ref in the 80s/90s.

Yes. Napa despite his diminutive stature has been around long enough and must surely be up to something. I'd hope he'd be a major part of our squad next year, although I don't quite know in what role. Baptiste will be a massive inclusion, already showing signs of being an extremely competent Division 3 player at the grand old age of 20.

Browne's looking rather truculent of late, isn't he? Chances are he'll be on loan in Division 2 next year and probably play a similar bit part role at a club such as Millwall. He doesn't look anywhere close to West Ham's bench at present.

Hopefully Napa has properly recovered from his illness and can push on next season and force his way into 1st team contention.

Somebody should have told David Pleat (although his more famous invasion WAS after the whistle, his whole staff are on after the Antic goal).

Consistency was also applied after our 2nd goal with the 3/4 lads that had climbed onto the pitch to celebrate with Luke Garbutt man handled and dragged out of the ground.......over the top but still consistent

Full strength next week, beat Wimbledon. Give a few of the youngsters a go after that.

I think Sykes deserves a run in the team and would like to see Lofthouse given a go. Maybe even Jack Stevens in goal, if he is going to be our second choice next season he shouldn’t get a few games at League One level that don’t really matter.

Not quite full strength no Kashi or Browne

Am i the only one that thinks graham has been pretty average the past month or so. He is skillful but has no pace. His crossing and shooting (except blackpool free kick obviously) has been average and he doesnt add much defensively. I think LG has been more effective as a wide midfielder offensively and fefensively and i dont think he is as dangerous as whyte.

Really??

Lofthouse on loan at Oxford City along with Owen James.

EDIT: Lofthouse is available it was Hopkins went on loan with James.

I hope Baptiste comes back as strong as he was. it was a nasty injury so may take him a while to get back to how he was playing, but there certainly seems to be some quality youngsters coming through

There is a 'match observer' at every match whose job is to provide a report on the match officials’ performance. Also both club managers have to compile a report on the referees' performance. It is these reports that lead to sanctions against referees who fail to apply the laws consistently,
This is why referees are reluctant to use discretion (aka common sense) even though most fans may want them to.

nothing, I would imagine the bookings were for entering the field of play without permission, rather than for anything directly related to celebrating.

Watching the extended highlights back, how on earth did their keeper get away with a head height studs up challenge on Mackie?

Good grief man. For once, stop whining. We have won four games in a row.
Just try to enjoy it.

I was right it is someone I ignored a long time ago, because of the personal drivel he spouts,:ROFLMAO:
Whining? Simply saying as I saw it, don't like it don't read it. Bye, back to the land of the ignored you go!!

Oops forgot to add. I do enjoy the football home and away, you? Or is it simply a case of pretending you're there.
