But rather than try to make integration a priority, the voting public have decided to sod that and to swallow the rhetoric of the far right (it's the immigrunts what did it). The obvious problem being that the Far Right are part of the problem to begin with.

Integration is a two way street...both sides have to want to integrate and plenty want nothing of the sort on both sides and some of the reasoning behind that is pretty abhorrent.
As for lived experience....really?
You think the majority have been in any way directly affected by this? - I very much doubt it (just as the majority are not affected by any perceived problems with migrants in the UK). As is the case here, people have been whipped up to think this is a massive problem and that it affects them in some way, when it really isn't at all.
Much in the same way people here were convinced by some that their lives were made worse by us being in the EU
